Rt 140/Adirondacks ride Saturday 6/27

Hey kids. I'm doing a ride on Saturday with my Triumph RAT pack; as usual, you guys are welcome to join whether you own a Triumph or not.

Details:
Meet at 8:45am at the McDonald's on Shelburne Rd in S. Burlington (kickstands up at 9am sharp), or at 10am in the Rosie's Restaurant parking lot on Rt 7 in the south end of Middlebury. We'll ride south to East Wallingford, west on Rt 140 to Poultney, NY Rt 18 to Whitehall, NY Rt 22 to Ticonderoga, NY Rt 7 to Moriah Center, a quick loop over some twisty roads that start with T and EP, then back into Vermont via the Chimney Point bridge.

Pace will be easygoing overall (within 10-15mph of the speed limit), but of course we'll pick things up in the twisties.

How was the weather? Radar looked pretty nasty all day...

Weird weather today. We actually had plenty of sunshine for most of the ride, and it stayed dry. We stopped for lunch on the way back at the A&W in Middlebury, and as we were waiting for our food it started drizzling a little (also, as we were riding up to Middlebury, we could see rain falling on a hillside nearby, but it was dry and semi-sunny where we were riding).

On the way back from Middlebury I hit little pockets of rain, but nothing too bad. The weather radar showed lots of little cloudbursts all over Vermont with nothing in between -- looked like the state had the measles.

Coming back into Shelburne I met up with my friend Jason and we rode up into the islands, but ended up turning around because we ran into rain up there too.
