Storage place to keep bike near Burlington

Anybody have any recommendations on where I should keep my bike. I know I can just go to a storage center, but does anybody have one that they have good experiences with? Seems like friday might be the last semi warm day we have so Im trying to figure this out soon.

Hold off for a bit -- there's a chance Doc might be able to pull something together (he's working on it), and if that doesn't work out, I'd probably be interested in going in on a storage unit with you. I've got two bikes that need a place to spend the winter.

I talked to doc a while ago, and he told me his garage/workspace thing didn't work out, and obviously his garage is already packed, but if he chimes in I'm sure he'll say what's up. Mark, sounds good, I'm into cheap!

I hear a 10'x10' self storage shed is rather cheep to live, strike that, store a few bikes in. If a hand full of people could get together it could certainly be cheaper then Parkers rent.

Re: Storage place to keep bike near Burlington

I will see what info I can get this week on the possible storage.

Is $50 a month doable? Straight storage, no real space or time to work on your bike in the off season. (If i can work that I will but it will be rare)

FYI. The space I was going to use is being rented. The guy is looking to sublet this winter to lower his cost.

I'd be interested as well (2 enduro bikes), but I'd need to have power to the unit...since wrenching is required.
Man I really need my own garage.

Re: Storage place to keep bike near Burlington

There would be no wrenching for $50 a month. (or at least extremely limited availability.

I have not heard back. Will call again tomorrow. 5 bikes?

cool Doc, my wrenching must happen before storage then, no biggie.
Put me down for 1 bike for sure, possibly 2. I'm thinking I might keep one under a tarp outside & work on it when it gets like -30 degrees, cause that's a ton of fun right there.

I tell ya what... I don't NEED to store all my bikes at my house. I could leave one project in the garage and store the others at this place and have room for you in my garage to work on your bike.

    Did you try BC Motorsports?

I believe they have a deal for approx $200 for the entire winter, inclusive of battery charging/tending and carb sync-ing in the spring.

Re: Storage place to keep bike near Burlington

Hi guys, I called around to get prices. The only size that makes sense is a 5ftx10ft, which is $60/month. I'm looking at winterizing Jan, Feb and some of March....maybe December as well, although I bet I'll still be riding in December.
I live in Essex Jct., and there's a place 2 miles from my apartment (McLure Storage), that I'm thinking of renting for those 3-4 months. If people want to get in on this, I could reserve it for Dec. 1st. If nobody is, I'll probably stick to my original plan for Jan, Feb & March.

Btw, Essex Mini Storage is $50/month (across from Land Air) for same size, but I'd have to drive to that one. I could walk to McLure's. But I could do either.

I haven't seen the space yet, but how many bikes would fit into a 5ftx10ft? 3-4? I have 2 enduros.

Bikes are about 3 feet at the handlebars and 6 feet or so long.

You could squeeze 3-4 in there I bet.

4 bikes in a 5X10? I highly doubt that. You just said that bikes are 3X6. You could probably get two side by side, but length wise I don't think you can get more than one in there. If you have enough room to squeeze the bike in at an angle you might be able to get a 3rd.

I think you're right. My 6x12 trailer can fit 2 side by side. If I staggered em and had the other stuff out of the trailer I might get 4 in.

How much more is a 10x10? You should be able to get 4-5 bikes in there

Re: Storage place to keep bike near Burlington

Ok so I talked to the guy renting the place I was looking to rent.

We might be able to work something out just renting the Garage space (for those that have seen this space before.)

If my partners are still in and I have a few of you that would like to store bikes at the previously posted rates I think this is a go.

PM me if you are a definate.

Just to clarify -- the garage space would be for storage only, correct? There would no longer be a level of membership where you've got access to work on your bike?
