Track Days, Summer 2009

So My brothers decided to get me a track day for this coming summer.

So we could coordinate our days (because I know some of you already bought days) I figured I would start a thread.

I have yet to decide which day I'm going, but I was thinking end of may, beginning of june, somewhere in there.

I will keep this first post updated as you all throw out there what days you are taking.

Good info Jockey, I hadn't seen those dates before and was wondering about everyone sig. Guess I was just lazy.

I will proabably do the one in July with Boston Moto, the one is June is my anniversary and that would not go well with Sarah.

I'm thinking Ill be hitting up VIR, NJ, and at least one at NHIS with them...and of course you can't forget Pit Bike Racing too!

Might toss down for a last min TTD at NHIS to go with Trouble and the VTSB Race Team too!

VIR is a *long* drive from VT, 14 hours plus.

A long as you make a vacation out of it, its well worth it. Its an awesome track, and every time I've been down there its always well run.

well, me and TimmyB went 17.5 hrs to ride the Dragon...all in one night, so 14-15 is nothing...relatively speaking

+1 i drove to the dragon rode there for a day...drove to the Snake rode there for two days then drove to VIR rode there for a day then drove back to TN dropped off the two girls and their bikes i was riding with drove back to MA then drove back to the Snake with some of my stuff a week later and stayed down there for most of the year. It was the most fun i've had in a long time. The ride to VIR and back is nothing ...granted coming from VT i know it's farther than MA but it is well worth it esp. since you can ride at VIR for three days and stay right there on the track. You will really enjoy VIR it's worth the drive

I've reserved a couple of TTD's to take advantage of the prebuy deal. I haven't committed to any dates yet but I'm probably going to do the May dates. I like the TTD's backing up to race weekends for camping and travel reasons. That's really all that I have planned now. I'm going to do at least one BM track day and one LAPS day. I'd like to do a variety of track days this summer to try them out. I'm a cheap bastard though so I'm looking for deals.

I'm going to wait 'till the end of the summer for NJ. I want more experience on a nearby track before I make the journey.

Note: I'm still going to be sporting the monsterous trailer this year, as well as a new-to-me track bike that I'm itching to try. Any time that we can get a posse to go to NHIS I'm ready for it. We can fit 5 bikes in the trailer easily and could probably take 8 without too much trouble.

That's pretty close to where I'm at. I put in for two prebuy days, I just got a TTD gift certificate as a Christmas present , and I've got a LAPS day from the Sportbike event raffle last year. I'm thinking I'll probably pay for another TTD so I can use the gift certificate in a two-day event.

I think I may use my prebuy spots for the May 26-27 dates (I think I'd rather hit a June weekend at NHMS, as I don't expect to do a whole lot of riding in April, but I don't want to wait until July, either).

After reading the BM website, I'm giving serious thought to one of those days, as well (most likely NHIS...maybe July 22nd, tagging along with the two TTDs prior).

Now if LAPS had a schedule up I could start planning...

So I think I just confirmed with my brother, I will be at the 22 July Boston Moto day for right now. Gonna work on a TTD for earlier and I'll see how that goes.

And at some point I'm going to arrange a time to bring the Hawk by (when I get the rest of the parts). I'd love to have you look it over. I got it running this weekend - the first time I've heard it purr. You couldn't wipe the smile off my face for almost an hour.

Then my wife came home before the fan had cleared all of the exhaust out of the basement....
