Wow, between wheelie popping motorcycles and speeding Germans, the VT troopers must have their hands full!

There is a new problem now.
ROYALTON – The excuse just didn't cut it.
Seth Tichenor, 33, of West Hartford, Conn. explained he was headed to traffic court to resolve a speeding ticket when Vermont State Police reported they pulled him over on Interstate 89.
The new offenses: excessive speeding — driving 112 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone — and negligent operation, state police said.
Tichenor was headed to a courtroom in Burlington more than an hour away, but his arrival was delayed while police wrote him up again.
Vermont State Police report they have stopped about 10 drivers for going 100 mph or more in either 55 or 65 mph zones on interstate highways in the last month. Three of those cases happened Wednesday.
Lt. Garry Scott, director of traffic operations, said the number of high rollers on the highways are up and so are traffic fatalities and that is a cause for grave concern for the safety of all people traveling on Vermont highways.
State police in Bethel received reports about a vehicle traveling in excess of 100 mph and weaving in and out of traffic, Trooper Rich Slusser said.
He said the stop was made on the northbound car in Royalton about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Slusser said Tichenor received a citation ordering him to appear in Vermont Superior Court in White River Junction on Oct. 27.
Tichenor was one of three drivers stopped Wednesday for going more than 100 mph on the Interstate highways in Vermont, police said.
Alesia Dailey, 40, of Littleton, N.H. was clocked at 108 mph in a 65 mph zone on I-91 in Springfield about 6:26 p.m., police said.
The northbound 2011 Chevrolet Aveo was clocked initially at 94 mph, but accelerated before she was stopped.
Sgt. Michael Studin, a former drug detective, said he found Buprenorphine during a search and Dailey did not have a prescription.
She was ordered to appear in court in White River Junction on charges of excessive speed, negligent operations and possession of a regulated drug.
Also Wednesday, David Roberts, 41, of Enfield, Conn. was stopped going 106 mph in a 65 mph zone in Middlesex about 2 p.m., Trooper Jerry Partain said.
Partain said Roberts is due in court in Washington County on Nov. 5 for careless and negligent driving.
TIMMYDUCK
The Aveo was going 94 and accelerated? They sure about that? Maybe the wind picked up?
I don't go to those areas much, but from my memory, if there were ever a place that could replicate the autobahn principle, they seemed like it. Great visibility, low traffic, few exit/entrance ramps, and quality pavement.

Maybe we should check to see if YOU have a prescription for a regulated substance.Every repave I see is heaved and potholed after a year or two here. It does seem like the highways used to be fairly smooth, but the roadwork now is very shortsighted, instead of addressing the underlying issues and saving money in the long run.
And yes, the 108 mph Aveo speed seems like it might not hold up in court![]()

In around 1978 VT had a total of 22 states we drove all over NE Kingdom doing 100 but even the pick ups were doing 80
speed limit on 91 North VT should be 85 daylight hours
