    VT ride tuesday 6/21

    With this nice weather i'd like to go on a long ride tomorrow.

    Who wants to go for a nice ride - T road, some gaps, ect?

    Normally, I would say *yes*... but can't tomorrow... did a nice long ride yesterday... posted some of my trip babbling in another thread. link

    What time and where? I have a dirty bike that needs cleaning and a chain to tighten, but I might be in. Just gotta wake up before noon. It's a tough life for us college kids on summer break.

    I just went on a similar epic ride today with my lady on the back and my 73 year old Dad tailing behind on his cruiser.

    Something like 250 miles from Colchester -> Fairfax -> Swanton -> Alburgh -> Plattsburgh (Naked Turtle for lunch) -> Route 9 -> Route 22 -> T Road x 2 -> E Road -> Port Henry-> Free ferry -> Back up to Fairfax and then to Colchester again.

    On E Road there are a few signs that say the bridge is out (you may already know this) and routing you to a detour but there is a temporary bridge in place and you can ride the entire length of the road.

    My Dad low-sided today on E Road after target fixating on a sandy corner. He was pinned under the bike until I could turn around and get back to him, but after lifting it off of him we were thrilled to find out that he was uninjured and the bike didn't suffer a scratch. It is really spooky to watch your father disappear into a cloud of dust in your rear view mirror. I am very thankful for good luck today.

    +1...no injuries to rider or bike is the best way to come out of it.

    Thanks for the heads up...I firmly believe in a recon run of both roads before getting too trigger happy.

    282 miles on the clock when I put the bike back in the hanger. Almost got a chipmunk, multiple birds and a coyote, that was being chased my one pissed off looking cow. I estimate about a half second faster and I'd have road tested the Alpinestars TLD suit.

    EP road is pretty bad actually. Lotsa loose wash, gravel, 2 construction zones, etc. T**** was puck dragging awesomeness like always.

    Stopped at the Stewarts in town and ran into a local who, along with his crew, like to do 11pm T****** runs. Nuts I say. I asked about deer, he said he never see's any. Take a guess what we saw, not even an hour later, in broad daylight, standing in EP road.

    We didn't make it to bike night, but we made it to bike afternoon, in Middlebury when we stopped for lunch.

    on a side note, i took a rental camry for a hell of a ride up a moutain pass to park city, ut, that would be absolutely awesome on 2 wheels! i might have to go rent an 1198...
