Huh, I've loved AT&T since I switched from Verizon 8 months ago.

If you get outside the Burlington coverage you'll drop almost every call. Coverage at my house in Waterbury was 5 full bars all the time this winter. In the last 6 weeks it'll bounce between No Service and 5 bars with the phone sitting on my desk. Voicemails have not shown up for up to 2 days...

Weird. I've had no problems with AT&T either. Are you sure they haven't just been working on the Waterbury-area towers? I know they've been doing a lot of work on their network all over Vermont.

Yup, no problems here either, all the way from Newport down to Vergennes or so... The occasional dead spot, but never had a dropped call.

I sure this has to do with the sale of Unicell to Verizon last year and the towers to ATT.

If you are having problems with the service, Please PM me your address and the general time of day it happens. I will get it forwarded it to RF Engineering

as much as you think they don't care. they really do. thats their job to make sure calls don't drop

The only issue I expereince is going in and out of the 3G zones. The call will drop with the switch...that and I have shitty coverage at my house, but thats about it.

    +1

3G is a little spotty in some areas and the switch back to the Edge network drops calls and causes a momentary dead spot till the antennae picks it back up. other than that, I love my 3Gs Iphone.

Actually... I do get out of Burlington and have never experienced a dropped call with AT&T.

    YMMV, and apparently does.

    Re: AT&T Wireless in Vermont

AT&T customer relations called me back yesterday - their field crew found that the T1 line for the base stations in the Waterbury/Waterbury Center area is damaged. They're looking at rigging up a microwave repeater to temporarily relay the signal to the Mt. Mansfield tower while they fix it...

Is there any idea as to when the transmitter will be up and running or when the tower itself will be fixed?

    Re: AT&T Wireless in Vermont

Verizon worked at my house ( Jericho ) only in a very specific spot in my driveway ( I even outlined it in chalk in the summer ), switched to AT&T and I now have the luxury of being able to make the calls ANYWHERE in my yard / house. And it was cheaper than Verizon. No iPhone for me and I find AT&T much better than Verizon for where I live.

    Re: AT&T Wireless in Vermont

I live in Burlington, and when I had Verizon it was basically useless at my house. Constant dropped calls, failure to make a connection when dialing out, etc -- one bar of service. Two on a crystal clear day, maybe, if I was lucky. In Burlington!

With AT&T I've always got strong reception, four or five bars.
