    08 R6 forks on an 07 question

I know the 08 R6 forks will bolt up to an 07, but I'm wondering if I need to change the lower triple. Was hoping I could put 'em on and just raise 'em 10mm, but I'm hearing the lower triple is different. Any input?

triples are fine... length is only diff.

p.s. do you have any lines on any 08/09 r6's?

That's weird 'cause i read they're different somewhere.
And not currently but I'll let you know. Thought you already made the switch, no?

have one, looking for a second...

I haven't had them side by side, but they will work either way, with either forks... they may have a different part # though (minor difference).

I have 08/09 forks you can try on for size if you want (im 10 min away)

Re: 08 R6 forks on an 07 question

Just got a reply on the Wera forum. Melkman says the 08 triple is different in that it grabs the forks higher up in order to give the forks more flex, resulting in more front end feel. I believe they'll bolt right in though even with the 07 triple, it would just be as an 07 would feel. So basically it would be a greater upgrade to go with the 08 triple if possible just for better feedback up front. Well at my times it probably doesn't matter anyway, lol.
I'm putting together a second R6 myself. Hence the fork questions. I do come across salvage/dropped stuff at the powersport auctions once in a while, so I'll let you know if I come across something interesting R6-wise.

Don't worry, those idiots pay too much for that stuff there anyway, lol. So don't buy your bikes at that retail store, geezuz.

as long as the outter tube diameters are the same and wheel spacing (width) is the same you wouldn't have a problem.
