Im also glad Im out of the novice MW ranks. There is always someone that gets a little too ambitious. When I got taken out in turn 3 during practice I knew it was time to bump up.
I was the rider who went down first. Im not sure what I did to upset the bike, but just as we tipped in the front end started skipping/oscillating, and just gave out from underneath me. I had slowed to go around somebody who pulled in front of me and right after I had gone around them, it happened. If I could tell you what exactly happened, I would, but that was something I had never felt the bike do before. Didnt feel like a tankslapper. All I could think of while it was happening was WTF is wrong with my front end. All of a sudden the bike spit out from underneath me and I was sliding with 30+ riders behind me. One of the scariest moments of my life.
Anyways Chris, I hope you dont give it up altogether, and wish you a speedy recovery. Maybe you can convince her to let you do trackdays after shes cooled down a bit. She seemed really nice so your decision is understandable. I was expecting her to punch me in the face when I went to check up on you, but she even asked me if I was ok. I know if I was in your situation my GF would have the fist clenched! So heal up and im sorry this happened like this.
