Ok, so missing inputs, likely the pulse per RPM is right.

Today I win!! Fixed the jumpy Tach on my Vapor!!!!! - Suzuki SV650 Forum: SV650, SV1000, Gladius Forums suggests a Trailtech RPM sensor wire with built in resistor to tame the input, then go direct to a coil. If you're comfy cutting off the existing spade and crimping a new one on, twist in the Vapor's input, and use heatshrink to bundle the Vapor's wire to the coil feed wire so you're not relying on the crimp alone holding it together.

Vapor was reading about 1K lower from the PC3 at 5K RPM (going by PC3)

It just annoys me that it's not right. One thing I won't be doing is putting on the speedo. I bought the vapor more for the tach and water temp.

I have the koso mini digital tach on mine. It jumps a bit but also it will randomly go off scale. Its really just there for steady state rpm on longer straights so I shift at the same RPM so I mostly look at mine when I go to Thompson.

It will jump a bit but shouldn't jump more than +- 150 rpm. with a digital gauge and it being able to read in a finer scale it will be a more noticeable jump/hunt but shouldn't be much more than that.

I don't even look down during the strait. Not going to lie. I may have bought this, so I can figure out where 7K RPM is to improve my launch.
