What a weekend. Race report to follow soon. I think i experienced all the seasons in one weekend, as well as the highs and lows of racing.
Random note: For those who got a visit from Security due to running a bike after sundown in the garages... I just reviewed the LRRS Garage Rental Rules and Regs that came in my envelope with the passes for the season; Rule 9 - No race bikes are to be run or started before 7:00 am or after 10:00 pm. If security wants to try and enforce the sundown rule, they're going to have to get me to agree to a new garage lease first.
Rulebook says 25 minutes. They were 20 minutes a few years back, 30 minutes before that.
Bear in mind that a lot of the things that make LRRS unique go back to the AAMRR days (1986 and before.) AAMRR was an independent organization that actually broke away from WERA. CCS didn't start until about 1984. AAMRR's insurance company pulled the plug in 1986 just before the Loudon Classic. Roger Edmundson flew in and threw a CCS blanker sanction on the event and got the AMA to insure it. Ted Goddard, the Ops Manager, grabbed Don Hutchinson, Steve Aspland, Jerry Wood, Freddie Mitchell and others and appointed them officials on the spot. They carried on to the end of the year and then renamed the organization LRRS. LRRS became an affiliate of CCS and continued to do things their own way.
I don't understand the CCS grid thing. I've seen them (and AHRMA, too) grid straight across even when the track has the MotoAmerica spec grid painted on the track. After Tommy painted the AMA spec grid on the track at Loudon, I began using it to grid the USCRA vintage racers. It only makes sense.

when Brett & I were rookies, it was 20 minutes. Then i think in 2013 they were changed to 25 mins.
Back when Degsy was racing (2000-2002), they were 30 mins.
Like Johnny B says, the gridding makes sense. I dont understand why CCS goes straight across, but it's the way they run things.
gnarliest round 1 I've seen at LRRS yet, good times

Once I made it to the track I had a good time. Also helps when you had some descent results too. I now like the rain.
