85 Days till the first race weekend
84 Days till the first Penguin School
83 Days till the first open test
I just pulled into north #9, setting up now for rd. 1.
BBQ chicken tonight if anyone is interested.
Central Mass Powersports #123
1000rr, zx10r, rmz450, RE classic, r6, S4Rs, xr123, sv650(2), cr250 and a box truck that leaks power steering fluid.
Seems like the appropriate place to ask this:
Reading the (provisional?) rule book for 2017, section 5.5.2.3 has bump thresholds at 112% lap record but section 5.5.2.4 has the thresholds at 110%. What am I missing?

There is a provisional 2017 LRRS rulebook out? Mind sharing a link?
Edit: Also, best place to ask will be at the rules meeting before the banquet tomorrow.
This is what I was reading: http://www.lrrsracing.com/2017/2017_LRRS_Rulebook.pdf
I have too much going on this weekend. Don't think I'll be able to make it.

Nice, I like what I'm seeing in there, FM Station is back for instance, 87.9.
On the 112% vs 110%, if you cross the 112% mark, you can petition to bump mid season. If you cross the 110% mark (faster) you can ask to try and stay as an AM until the end of the year, at which point you get a forced admin bump and welcome to white plates.
6.2.2 seems overly restrictive: No alcoholic beverages PERIOD during racing or practice, by ANYONE, or 4 hours before you hit the track. I get the 4 hour rule, but I can see some non-racing visitors being a bit peeved at the total lock out of alcohol if they're in the pits/paddock.
I still don't get why 7.1.11 is a thing...
9.10, they took my advice finally, kinda. The last sentence should be tossed, if it's not on the list it shouldn't be legal until a full notification with tech bulletin covering the rule change is posted. Playing footise in a puddle with Tech on Saturday 'cause you can't be bothered to use one of the FIVE listed options is asinine.
16.1.1, I still don't like this. If you're going to put a time requirement on riders checking the results, there needs to either be a time requirement for posting them, or a mandatory announcement of their posting.
18.10.2.1, racers can't submit protests on safety or race procedures? Wha?
HWSS now allows for machines with more than four cylinders, up to 775cc... what bikes does that new definition allow in? (Same change for HWSB, 820cc cap.)
Wooo... LWGP is allowing three cylinder machines up to 565cc... ENTER THE CRIPLE TRIPLE! Also electric bikes.

So forced vs voluntary. Interesting. Why make two criteria?
And I like how they're very explicit in the threshold down to the millisecond

They have to specify down to the millisecond 'cause you know someone will push them on 'specifics' if they didn't.
And think of the two criteria this way:
112% - You're fast, your call if you want to swim with the big fish or continue enjoying battles at the front as an AM.
110% - Ok... now we're starting to smell sandbagging if you don't wanna bump...

Cracked swingarm on the race bike, guess Ive been riding like that for a few seasons. Interesting find to say the least.
And yes there are a fair few changes to the rules this season, read that book over carefully, just sayin.
I have a G1 SV swingarm with clean bearings. Only problem with it is a broken spool. I chanced on a replacement arm rather than having it repaired. If you need. Was headed to the scrap guy.

Parts are rolling in, most of the bike work will be happening this weekend.
I might wear my suit while I shovel out if this storm...

Parts rolling in constantly, and I'm researching more. Current quandary is weather or not to try GOLDfren brake pads, and if so what compound is closest to EBC GPFA in feel? Number plates have been ordered for the R6, so that's getting kinda serious...

Survived the snow storm, but FedEx was a bunch of wimps and couldn't see delivering some parts. Guess they'll try again today.

I got a call from Adrenaline last night, the motor build is all planned and I'm getting excited. A bunch of mortard riders are going to be on new machines this year, it's going to be fun to see how the huskies perform. Hopefully I'm bringing a gun to the fight.

So lets make this thread a bit more interesting, anyone have some goals for the season???
I know mine are
1. Drop at least 3 more seconds off my lap times
2. Be more consistent
3. Race in GTL at least once (kept getting asked last season to join the party)
4. Get on the podium as an armature more than once
5. Improve my race craft
I want to see 21s consistently again. That's going to require fixing my way wrong brake markers into 1, 3, 6 and 11.
I also want to run the AMA Sumo round on my own kit this year.
Win one, yellow plates, not wake up in the hospital, enjoy summer nights with my track family.
