Last few laps of the GTL is where you'll find that time. You're so tired your brain and body forget to stop you from going faster. If you're GPS recording at that point, reviewing that data will open your eyes to where you've been loafing it. Also, if you go into the race knowing you're not going to win and just do your thing, it is much more enjoyable and you can learn stuff.

Im still on the fence about GTL to be honest. Its a long race, and with red flags it can be way too long. Ill see where Im at come beginning of the season and make a game time decision. I have 4 core races from last season that I plan to do, and might add one or two more but haven't decided yet.
GTL is worth every $ and every minute of your time. Justdoeit. You'll be glad you did.
I agree with bubba. It's a fun race.

GTL is the best track time per dollar you can get as a racer. It's like a long Friday practice, but everyone is actually on form, no loafers site seeing or breaking in a motor to hold you up. It's also long enough that you can get into a flow, picking something to work on and having plenty of opportunities to try it. Once you get used to doing a GT, regular sprints are nowhere near as tiring.
