Whoa............what a week.
It started on tuesday with a Tony's track day. My first time ever on the track. That was a blast and a LOT of needed track time for my upcoming weekend. I was spent after this. I then spent all of wednesday and thursday night prepping my bike for tech.
Friday I did the penguin school. All was going well until my 2nd open practice. Lowsided in 11a. To much speed, coasting, spent tire, inexperiece. Picked it up and finished practice. I split out of the penguin as soon as I got my shit and went down to register for my races right at 7:00 so I didn't have to mess round with it in the morning.
Woke up saturday with a pretty sore rib from my crash on friday, and got ready for practice. I got both in and I was feeling pretty good. Saturday was also my rookie race. I took it easy knowing that if I crashed I would be doing this all over again. I finished the race and now I am an officially licensed racer.YAAAAHHHHHHHH. I have no idea why I waited so long for this.
I also entered LWSportsman and finished 10 out of 14 in my class. Not bad and I was pleased considering that it was my first actual race and all.
Saturday night we went out to dinner and I made the mistake of getting shattered.
Sunday morning sucked because when I woke up it was raining. So I knew I would miss the first practice because I would have to go see Stevie Dunlop and get some rains mounted on my rims as I only have one set. Now keep in mind that I actually need some rims to mount my rains on. So I look and there my bike was missing. So I hop in the truck ride aruond the track and I look at the usual spots, the womens room, turn 3, tree house, anywhere ont he track. I can't find the bike. Then I go back and ask where the fuck she is. Get the usual I don't know. Then I got a little tip where she might be. Low and behold she's sitting all by her lonesome out on the start finish line going the wrong way. So Hessocarriedthestand and I went out and got her. She was lonely out there all night. Ok so now I have about an hour to get some rains mounted. Got it done in time and made the 2nd practice.
I entered the Supermotard race with Heath on sunday and got a decent start. I ended up being last on the start. Well the kid that got the holeshot ended up going down in 2. I ended up passing 3rd and 4th place to move up to second with a pretty good lead. I made it to the halfway point no problem cruising in second. Well next lap I'm cruising into 2 and next thing I know I am looking at the air fence sliding on my ass. I look up and the two guys I passed to get second went by .......FUCK. picked the bike up and finished last.
All in all I had a great weekend riding and racing. I learned alot, too much and it's still trying to process in the mind.
