I'm sure someone can post it, but Spies signed w/ Yamaha for 2 years, the first to stay in WSBK IIRC?

The Spies deal for the WSBK 2010 season wasn't definite, the whole deal revolving around the word "foresees"...see linky:

He'll almost definitely have a seat with Yamaha next year, but it was never definite what series it would be in.

exactly. i'm thinking we will see him in GP. there are rumors that ducati is already approaching rossi for 2011, not that i think rossi will leave..... everyone has always wanted to see him on the duc. if he left, that opens up a factory seat at yamaha. lorenzo is also only on a one year contract. so in 2011 there "could" be room on the factory team for spies, but he's got to do a satellite team first.

Apparently you missed Rossis comments after Lorenzo's signing was confirmed, he was not happy having two #1 riders and felt slighted by Yamaha.

That coupled with his statement of wanting to continue racing GPs for 5 or 6 more years, I could absolutely see him on the Red Bike from Bologna in 2011.

Have him win a title and prove it wasn't a fluke with Stoner, and win a title on an Italian bike, and you cement his legacy (as if there's any doubt, but titles on 3 bike manufacturers and the last being Ducati?)...

    Just a thought.

i agree the possibility of him leaving is always there (and like i said, everyone has wanted to see him on an italian bike), but i'm not so sure even he could get the best out of that bike in todays environment. with all the new rules and a very limited amount of preseason testing allowed now, it's a pretty bold move to jump to a very different bike. granted he did it with hrc to yamaha, but like i say, they don't have a ton of time to get the bike sorted for him preseason.
