My goal is to get down and watch some races as much as possible. Not as exciting, but affordable and much safer.

This would imply that I actually write stuff down. Which should probably be a goal as well to write notes down.

We can't all be E Wood and record and over-analyze everything. It's supposed to be fun, not work.

Why can't it be both? Racing alone is a hell of a lot fun. But I also get a kick of figuring out how I can get better.

There are 2 different kinds of riders. Ones that ride by feel and ones that have reference points.

I just want to make it up for a weekend to say hi. It has been too many years for me. Maybe introduce my 1 year old to racing. At least then when she is ready we can both come and race

One of the most spectacular demonstrations I've ever seen of how both methods can work equally well was watching that video of Doug Henry dicing with one of the Wood brothers around Loudon on motards...one rider with perfect lines and talent, the other with massive balls, talent, and lines that would get you ejected from a track day (LOL)

    Re: 2017 LRRS goals

Having raced Doug and chatted with him about it, I wouldn't call him a feel rider. He was just employing an entirely different set of technical skills to our playing field. It's more a perfect example of why you can never say that one technique is the best. Many riding schools (think CSS, YCRS) fall into the trap of thinking they have it all figured out and everyone else is wrong. YCRS is especially brazen in their claims.

Ducati had a tried motor in it last year. So hopefully the new one has more grunt! The Buell is used for Arhma racing I don't think it will see NHMS this year..

Yes, before he was paralyzed he would practice for supermoto by running LRRS. The motards didn't have a class, so they ran in 125GP.

For some the fun is had in overanalyzing and pouring over all sorts of data. (Sadly I am an engineer so I live for numbers)

    *Points to self*

I will admit I don't ever actually look at any of the data I gather (GPS laptimer, Dair Suit) Only ever watch my gopro footage.

Perhaps try and hit a single.
Already struck out, motor is no good. No MW for me this year.

I intend to ride my big, fat, slow streetbike up for at least one half of one race day. I also intend to eat a Slim Jim before, after or during said half day of spectating.
Goatee touching will be welcomed and considered a bonus.
