$275 Paint jobs... no substitute for the good guys!

    Hey guys,

I promote quality paint jobs as much as the next guy, and say you should keep supporting your painters for your high-quality paint needs...

I have done a bit of painting, and have worked out a deal locally to rent spray booth time. Looks like I can get race plastics done (one color with number plates) for $275, and two-color, plus plates for $325.

I will post up some pictures of previous work (the 3 original moto addiction bikes, my black bike/green star, and some others). It's by no means a poor quality job, but I also don't want to claim to outperform the guys who do this full time... The prices reflect dropping off new and primed bodywork, ready to paint. (I'll clean it and tack it). IF you need bodywork done it's possible, if you give me something that looks like it was freshly hammered into shape and has playdough added in the cracks, I wont touch it.

    Any interest? let me know.

EDIT: Bike's I've done in the last couple years:

the old (home) paint booth... this is why I stopped painting... but with access to a booth, I'm happy to paint again:

sorry no cow replicas... Unless you let me put baby bottle nipples on the lower as udders.

I absolutely hate your signature orange peeled roll-on brick red that you buy on the home depot mis-match shelf.

yes - that includes upper, lower, tank, tail. fender/undertail I may have to add $25 for supplies, doesn't take much more time.

OP only mentions plastics. Glad you're not in marketing.

Whatever the case, that's a pretty smokin' deal!

nope, not trying to market and compete with anybody, just offering something better than you'll get from a rattle can.

I have a tank I think needs a new coat of white, but no experience on getting it stripped/prepped for paint, how much extra would that cost?

there are 100 different whites... is it a race bike or does it have to match something OEM? PM me details we'll get you set up...

Was originally thinking deep emerald green & black. Not sure on the scheme though. My artistic abilities are limited.

    Cool.

It would also be more, as you suggested, since it would also include the fender and the tank would need a little work. (I need to drain the damned thing too.)

So, it would be everything, upper, lower, tail, fender, and tank (with body work on the tank)

damn... my r6 really needs to get re-painted. one color - liquid silver. last person who did it was evidently a hack job because it's peeling like a leper.

Can you color match Ducati red?

I want those track plastics you have squirted. You won't have to paint my tank so it will be a little cheaper right?

I can look up a paint code, but there's no guarantee it will be 100% perfect match since ducati reds have varied slightly. (no replacement for the good guys)

Think you can do a whole street bike black? With a clear coat instead of a single stage paint?

Everything I do is 2 stage... but PM me details on the "whole streetbike" This usually includes many more pieces (although I know it's not necessarily more area) and abs is sometimes more frustrating to work with (more reactive to chemicals than fiberglass resin).
