great idea, maybe we could put an EX front end on TZ250 while we're at it.

Now back on topic. Where do they tell us how to build them for 'just over the cost of the base MX bike'

And Doc, I gotta find the thread for ya, last year someone was working on grafting a DS1000 motor into a CRF450R frame... had it mounted, was just sorting some plumbing and wiring issues last I knew.

I saw the RMZ Thursday before the AMA Finale over in Grant's garage. He had just finished building it.

They literally took a front end off a GSXR600 and put it on the RMZ frame. Schwantz rode it that weekend and told me it 'wasn't so bad'

PS: I thought about turning my RMZ450 motard into one of these after talking to Roland about it.. then I realized I'd probably go just as fast on my Motard and can take it off jumps as well...

Unless you are able to race a spec-class with it I don't see the point.

Is it a "bolt on" mod or do you have to do some fabrication?

Oh... and as much as I think seeing out of one eye, cackling like a pirate, (" ARrrr Abast ye mateys!) foot out, in the rain, backing it into 3 sounds like fun... I'd rather do it in a proper racer tuck.

Then there is that whole bike catching on fire thing....

ahah I dunno man, I didn't pull out my protractor and start taking measurements. That's just how Grant told me "took front end off Gixxer 6, bolted it on, good to go". I did say something like 'Shit just bolted right on?' and he said 'yup pretty much'

I want to say on at least one of the conversions they commented that it literally was just a matter of chucking the 600 clamps onto the 450 frame, the stem and bearings were a direct fit.

Why not use a real GP chasis? Moriwaki is making these in Japan and HRC is watching closely. THey are dropping the 125 as of 09. Look for a real racing single to replace it.
