You guys are wild. Maybe Penguin should run a campaign like 'Half off a School for anyone that signs up for a Boston Moto trackday'. Sure you guys would love that.

Nice work on the post deletion. Don't let facts get in the way of a good sales pitch!

    Good luck!
Alex. Really. Are you for real?

I don't have to justify anything we do to market product. How many schools are at the track handing out race licenses? If you can tell me of any more we will gladly extend the discount to their students also.

And we would love penguin to extend a discount to riders who do our trackdays. Why wouldn't we??

Back on topic...I grabbed a set of Conti DOTS yesterday, and I'm pretty stoked to see what the hype's all about...once I get my bike fixed! Thanks to Q for manning the trailer solo for most of the day! And for Scottie too for being a sexy man and letting me eat his dried fruit.

    Degsy,

I am not sure where Alex was going with his post.... but all I wanted to point out is the Title and details of this thread kind of imply that Continental/Boston Moto is associated with Penguin School and you are extending that deal to them beacause of that association.

Penguin School has been supported by Dunlop Tires for alongtime and this thread does kind of lead a newbie into thinking that Continential is the company that supports the Penguin School. That and the fact that Penguin & Dunlop offer an excellent deal for their students on Dunlop 209GPA's

I think its great that you guys are willing to jump in and help a new racer..... but using the association of this deal and the name "Penguin School" is a bit misleading.

    Scott

Ah. Ok. That makes sense now. We were definitely not trying to say that we are associated in any way with Penguin school. We should have titled the thread "$50 off racer price for first-time racers". We did speak to Eric Wood and he wasn't concerned about it and knew nothing about it in fact. It was simply a marketing idea to try to get budget-minded new racers onto our brand as we all know that racers tend to be brand loyal. Penguin is the only school able to issue a ccs license at nhms so we thought the meaning was kind of implied to be for new racers, not specifically Penguin school attendees. We didn't specifically speak to Steve at Dunlop but knowing him I really don't think he would be concerned. We want to obey the rules and did not display/sell any of the big leftover supply of Pirellis we had with us, complying with NHMS's wishes.

Thanks to all the new novices who came by to buy Continental race tires from us. We had a successful race weekend with this new brand for us and are pleased with the feedback we got from our customers. Kip Peterson kindly took a set of Conti DOTs out for us as a test and laid down a few mid-teens (16s we think) with no suspension changes on thursday so we were happy with that for a first time test with a fast rider who hasn't ridden since last year. Thanks for taking the time to try them out for us, Kip and good luck this year on the Michelins. 3rd place in the dash!! Way to go!!

Well said, Scott! If that was indeed the intent of Alex's post, it's a shame he couldn't get that across that way...

I'm gonna change the title of the thread for everyone to avoid any further confusion/misunderstanding...

I agree shit happens and I am on BM's side. Its just others that go off on rants when what was intended was misread or misinterpretted.

I'm not really on anyone's 'side' in regards to the tire thing. I'm just growing increasingly weary of people spouting off because they think they have stake in one organization or another. Scott G put it very well, Degs had a great reply. Just think if this whole thread went that way from the beginning. Less animosity for a change with this bullshit...
