Dunno how I feel about this one since I dont watch the 250 races. One one hand, 600ccs would be fun, on the other, with the new MotoGP favoring corner speed, the "developmental" class losing corner speed it could either be a clusterfuck in a number of years, or bring back more exciting racing since the art of the cornerspeed wont be there as much.

They should run nothing but 600's at any race anywhere.

Look how well it works at Loudon!

Good point. 600 or less would still be cool!

ok, i think this is retarded.

GP bikes should not be based on street bikes, ever. that is why they are GP bikes, not supersport or supebikes.

600 is kinda close to 800. if they build proper prototype 600s they are probably not going to be that much differant than the 800s.

does the world really need another class of 4 cyl, 4-stroke race bikes.

if you want to kill the 2-strokes, fine i get it, but use some creativity in replacing them please.

Re: 600cc to replace 250 GP?

I would like a GP class with 450-600cc, twin cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 stroke bikes to replace the 250 2 strokes. True GP bikes, not based on production street bikes, but still available for privateers to buy at a reasonably low price.

To me, this is a crying shame. Unless they can drop 100 pounds form a current 600, there is NO benefit to them in terms of rider development IMO. A full prototype 400cc class would be sweet.

Re: 600cc to replace 250 GP?

I guess we will find out tomorrow what it's going to be. By the time we wake up, it should already be announced.

KTM and Aprilia are opposed... hmmm. Maybe because they both have a sour taste in their mouths from their MotoGP efforts. They are the only 2 that have been continuing to develope their 2 stroke bikes.
