9 is the corner I most often get my knee down. 1st corner I ever did as well...

Hell the last round was the 1st time I ever touched in 6.

yeah, 8 is fucking fast. if you're not wide open and on your knee past the tree house, brakes shouldn't even come up in a conversation about 9. the cool part about dragging a knee in 8... you know you're moving. 1, 3, 6 etc, you can cheat and get a knee down, in 8 though it's tough to cheat and drag a knee.

You can, though I don't do it nearly as much nor as forceful as when I was on a 'real' bike.

I used to have that problem (albeit not on a motard). Too much bar input in 7. I was pulling myself back onto the bike coming outta the bowl and it would cause some wobble. Once I lightened up the grip on the bars the wobble stopped.

On the Hawk which is much lower than a Motard this was the first weekend I really felt like I was leaning ALOT in 8, usually I feel pretty straight up and down as well... Not sure what I was doing differently (other than busting my ass trying to catch Richie!)

I think I solved that conundrum this weekend, I actually shifted my body from right to left before the bumps, its hard to explain but the headshake all but went away. Usually I waited for them to throw myself over, but this weekend by the time I hit the bumpy parts I was already on the right side of the bike and it was smooth as my nuts.

Basically try to have your body set for 8 before the bumps. That way youre not leveraging the bars trying to get yourself over. It still moves, just not as extreme as it did before.

I think its happening before the bumps, but you guys are right, I'm kinda pulling myself up to the front of the bike out of the bowl and probably hand input is causing them shits

I find a good death grip combined with panic induced paralysis keeps the bars from wagging for me. Oh, it tries, but nothing can overcome my white knuckle grip.

I must be doing something very, very wrong. Everybody's talking about dragging knees, burning up knee pucks. I've dragged my knee exactly once (that wasn't followed by other parts of my body), and it was in 11. Of course, I know I need to work on flexibility.

FWIW you can obviously get around the track and run a 1:12 without ever touching your knee on the ground. Whether you CAN or not is very different than whether you do or not. I don't recall ever getting my knee down in T8 myself

Balls. I ride the rev limiter in 3rd for about 15 feet before 9 (same gearing - SV). Sounds like I should be grabbing an upshift to 4th coming out of the bowl?

I'm running 1:23's and only touching knee in T6 and occasionally in T2. Definitely need to work on body position more.

Mind if I ask when and where you're shifting?

    Thanks,
    Fitz

My SV also has 15/45 and if I go through T6 as fast as I can I need to be in 4th gear entering the turn. If I'm off pace I can go down a gear (3rd) but I'll be at redline just before T7.

My bike does not have a fairing, and there are only two places I get "windy helmet effect" - the front straight and the treehouse...probably an indicator as to how poorly I'm doing 3-5.
