    Advertising the races...

If I had some Posters/ Flyers made up would you guys be willing to go out and distribute them in the local areas?

I am looking more along the lines of people in a 1 hour radius of the track but I'd be happy to hand them out to anyone that wanted to post them.

Basically it would be a general "Come check out the Motorcycle Races"
With dates and prices for Grand stand tickets.

    What do you guys think?

Go for it. I know I'm outside of the 100 miles you are looking for, but... I'll gladly post them in my dealership.

You're right, I mean they've only been running the classic for 85 years.

If only someone had thought to put up flyers!

i dont think he is just planning this for the classic. however, i do agree with the fact it seems like it would be a lot of work for probably little return.

Disclaimer: Loudon Classic no longer features AMA racing, the USGPRU, or Motard Races. Animal Hill has been moved to a parking lot. But we have EX500 racing! And hawks! Ooohh...

    fucking priceless.

I'm looking forward to paying $50 to crew for the weekend. I'm sure all you racers are glad to be paying to get into an event that you are the main attraction for.

    Re: Advertising the races...

Right, Not just for the Classic. For the whole season.

It is well known that the locals do not know about the motorcycle roadracing at NHMS, Not to mention the people in outlying areas.

Granted "little return" is a possiblity BUT what if it helped to cement LRRS's place at NHMS?

I would say every little bit counts.

Maybe renaming the Production Twins races to something like "Shitty McBikefest" would get more press.

It's a good idea Doc and don't let the cynical bitches get you down. I can't tell you the number of riders I talked to in Greater Boston area that had NFI we raced 8x's a year 1.5 hours away.

Having a small handbill / flyer to post up and/or give out at bike spots WILL NOT HURT anything. Something anyone can print out 10 of on the office copier and have in their backpack.

Spreading the word is a good thing and every bit helps. We put on a good show and have excellent race talent, so quit selling yourself short (naysayers).

I went to a local AFM race here in CA and there were a TON of spectators. It was rather impressive.

If yu pick up some strippers to walk around and advertise free "show us your tits" signs to hold up that might get some of the old crowd back.

    Re: Advertising the races...

well your hearts in the right place doc, i'll give you that.

with that said, we're just a stream of income to them. gravy if you will. if they were going to get rid of us it would be for a much larger stream of income than we can produce. even with flyers.

now with that being said, if you were to do fliers you have to get them to the bike "poser" spots. can't help you there as i havent dusted my streetbike off this year.

    Re: Advertising the races...

Personally I could give a shit about bringing spectators up for the track to make money.

I want more spectators up there because I'm proud of my club, teammates, competitors, and sponsors.

ive been saying that since i started here. at least they used to have an excuse (race weekend was 3 days) but now its just another weekend with 2 MW races swapped :whoopdeedo:
ive said it a thousand times. LRRS is a TAKE TAKE TAKE organization they give little to nothing back to its racers. which is why it always makes money. they raised our entry fees, and what do we see in return? nothing. they raised our gate fees, and what did we get in return? nothing.
with all the raising of fees you would think we could at least see some track repair. fix the trench in 12, how about some pea gravel instead of the boulders on the outside of 6? i realize that we are nothing special (LRRS has made that very clear) but c'mon, some incentive to give them my hard earned cash would be nice.
i ran/run a pretty cheap race program. mostly due to my inability to be able to race on saturdays. so last year i got out pretty cheap. i spent between $900-1K in gate and entry fees (just $$ that goes to LRRS).
i know that some (most) spend that p/weekend . it makes you wonder is racing here really worth it? its almost worth it to just do trackdays since i will get more tracktime (which is what we all really want anyways) it would be more expensive for me but i bet it would be right on par for most.

Well, let me ask a genuine question here Doc.
What was your original intent of the flyers and bringing in more people?
