    Gopro mounting advice?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere; tried search but I'm on the phone, so...

I'm looking to Safely mount a new gopro to the front dash or tail section of a 600RR (if it makes a difference).

Seems like maybe I should drill a couple holes through one or two of the provided sticky mounts, and zip tie in addition to the glue. Sound about right to you guys? Also, safe to rely on the clip-in action to the mount, or should I beef that junction up somehow also?

    Thanks-

Personally I like and prefer not using sticky mounts. I used ram mounts to mount my go pro on my R6 and it works killer. Very little vibration and a great angle. I used their handlebar U mount, the standard arm, and the go pro adapter.

The clip mount should come with a white plastic lock. As far as safety-wire or tether, I'd rather tether the gopro itself, as opposed to the mount. What if one of the thumbscrews falls out?

What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.

Smutty is that on clipons, or something like a renthal crossbar on your motard?

I don't have a motard. It was on my clipon. You could use it on the crossbar on a motard though.

I second the ram mount. You can find them on eBay. It's study and rubberized and shakes very little.

Your videos from the track day on Friday came out great. Did you use the Ram mount on the tail of your SV?

Yeah I stuck the handlebar ram mount to my grab bar. I might try it lower on the exhaust hanger next time but I like to see myself so I can judge body position.

I've used the sticky mounts for 2 years with no issue. Of course they are there to stay once you put them on. Here is a tip, put a small piece of paper towel in the clip before sliding the mount into it. This helps make a solid connection and makes the video less shaky. Depending on the thickness of the paper you might even double it up.
