    Approved helmet question

Just reading the 2010 rule book and came across the section on helmets.
The rule book states "The helmet must meet DOT plus Snell M2005 and
    M2010(USA) approval"

So does this mean if a helmet only meets DOT and Snell M2005 it is no longer good for competition?

Or should this actually read "The helmet must meet DOT plus Snell M2005 or
    M2010(USA) approval"

Most helmets would only have one Snell approval sticker. So helmets that meet the new M2010 cert would not have a M2005 sticker.

Just checking because my Helmet is just over a year old and is only a M2005/DOT

    Alex

Don't get too hung up on the exact wording.

They must be Snell M2005 or M2010. Any M2010 helmet would not be tested for the M2005 standard.

As long as your build date is less than 5 years old you're fine.
