    Aprilia RRV (SXV convert)

    ripped from AF1...

    Comment from Jeremy McWilliams:
"That, is the best handling bike I’ve ridden in the whole test and that includes all of the new Moto 2 GP bikes. It’s absolutely awesome, can you sort me out with a race on one?"

LWSS legal? I think it is! (Well... with DOT tires on it, it would)

    How much?
i don't know how much is invested in the specific bikes above but here's some estimated pricing info...

At the dealer show in Indy, GP Tech had a RR version of a SXV in their display. It had shortened forks, clip-ons, Ohlins shock, rear sets, Tuono frt. fairing and a race sportbike style seat & fender. They said they made it because Aprilia asked them how much it would take to make a RR. They did not go into detail, but said the whole kit would cost about $2500.

I may or may not have been plotting to build one of those for the past few months.......

With the 550 motor that is.

Yea a few guys have built and run the 450 singles. That GP Tech one I think Barnie ran a bit.

The Aprilia conversion really gets me going thou because it's a v-twin plant... and the 550 puts out (so I've heard) 65-70hp out of the box.... oh yes.

yup. simple filter, mapping and full system for the 550 will get you around 70HP pretty easily

i'm going to dyno my 550 this season to see where i'm at. currently running the Silmoto stainless system and mapping w/ AFI single stage filter... should do pretty well. i just want a baseline before tuning. also have the VDB race map to give a try but i need to redo TPS and TB sync before loading that in again... bike wasn't as happy as it was with Sil mapping.

Geoff Maloney at GP Tech LLC, emailed me back with some info and a .pdf of their SXV450 Build.

    http://www.tsedigitalvoice.com/sg/apriliasxv.pdf
(I couldnt upload the pdf as it was too big so I uploaded it to my site)

    From Geoff:
Yes, we did build one (we will race and develop more parts for this bike as the season progresses).

Most of the hard parts are production ready clip-ons, rearset plates, suspension, tank skin (the fairing brackets depend on the bodywork used)

    Thank you- Geoff Maloney

    Re: Aprilia RRV (SXV convert)

Up till now the weak point of the 'prillers has been weight. Now that the MXV is showing they can make a svelter package the HP advantage may actually be more noticeable?
