Im the opposite. On a fresh set of tires i tend to be a second or so faster then worn tires. I dp believe its alot in my head just giving me that extra trust to push harder. Though its also in part that i used to ru. Tires as far as i could and that did result in alot of crashes. Sp when the tires start to drop off my confidence in them drops dramatically as well

    Spell check is your friend
You crashed because you ran Bridgestones and Dunlops... I don't think you ran a set long enough to let them get worn last year...

There's such a large margin for error in today's tires it's ridiculous.

It's no secret...I've run some questionable rubber...

What got me through was adjusting my body position to put me on a part of the tire that had a little more meat left. I was using a similar technique to rain riding.

I'd run takeoffs without a doubt. You can run expert pace on most of the takeoffs out there..nevermind novice.

When I hit 18's on the tard I was on takeoffs and didn't slip once.

Having comfort and confidence with new tires is great, but you're always going to have that mental gremlin if you don't push past it. Sliding that rear around T6 into T7 is magical. The worse the tire is the better haha.

I used to buy fast guy Pete's take offs for a few years.
