No U.S.M. BBQ this race weekend.

It seems the track will be doing that food and band party thingy in the Checkered Flag, again. So, no BBQ for you!!

Did anyone go to that the last time ( before NASCAR ) ?

It looked kinda lame and I can't imagine how much they'd charge for a beer or a drink. I think it's $20.00 and you can't bring any of your own stuff??

Yeah, it was a cute gesture... but I don't think they recognize their audience. Having a bouncer in a suit at the door and appetizers with more than four syllables in the name is a bit higher class than I'm feeling after peeling out of my leathers but still wearing my soaked through underarmor.

Why can't we have our own "private" BBQ?

also, This is a good idea, our own BBQ is on the books for us this weekend, I am probably hauling up the crap box trailer that i bought to sleep in, so i might just throw my webber in the back and BBQ on my own.

You can. The USM has been doing it to raise money and still feed a lot of people cheaply. All corner workers eat for free. Any extra goes for equipment and to charities like the Injured Riders Fund and the Air Fence Fund.

Plus, where else are you going to grab a quick burger and a beer for less than five bucks AND take care of the CW's and our charities?

Do I need to pack my very large grill in the truck this weekend?

Did it before and I'll do it again!

Actually, I didn't want to step on the Marshall's BBQ, but myself and my teammates are having a cookout in celebration of one of our teammates birthday, on Saturday night. EVERYONE is welcome, we'll keep cooking until we run out of food, just bring your own adult beverage of choice(we're not asking for it, but anyone wanting to toss in a couple bucks to cover the cost wouldn't be told "no"). We generally pit along the fence between T2 and T3, just look for the orange and black "RSP Racing" bikes. Seriously, anyone who's up at the track for Saturday night, come over and hang out!

Are you talking about Tasha at T.G.I. Fridays?

I believe it's free to see the band, "Jam Sandwich", and $10.00 to eat.

I don't know what the band is going to be but that is what the cost was last time...

You are correct. They are very good. Food is good too. And a party at T2T3. Great.

Mayhaps we will swing by T2/T3 for some socializing, but I'd feel bad eating your food. Rob and I will be in (as he so kindly put it) our shitbox trailer, so we will most likely venture our way closer to the garages, so come look for us at food time, too!

Just keep your eyes out for any hungry or thirsty corner workers you see who have missed this announcement. There are some who count on the BBQ to cut their expenses when they make the trip up to work.

I'll be bringing some extra beer to help their disappointment!

No reason to feel bad, but yeah, at least stop by and say hi.

Actually, our star cook is Timmyduck on this site, who is also a USM, I'm sure he's going to spread the word for all the other corner workers to come by.

Re: No U.S.M. BBQ this race weekend.

FYI, after some discussion, we decided that if we get any donations above and beyond our food costs, they'll be donated to the Karen Hornbecker Fund.

Again, we're definitely not asking for donations, basically, if anyone wants to toss a couple dollars in the box, cool, if not, the original plan was to buy some food and invite everyone to come party with us anyways!
