    Small bike - Big track

It looks like my race season is going to end with just the minis this year. Sat. will be the last rte. 106 mini-motard race this fall. I'm racing the Transworld Masters of Minis as well and that's about all I can handle for now. I will be doing a trackday or two in the late spring with my SV650.
After doing the Master of Minis race last weekend , I'm so sore that I can hardly walk. It was a great event and I can't wait for the next one.

Tony, I have around 31,500 miles on the SV now.

I'm playing corner worker Saturday, so I won't be able to race, but I'm going to try and sneak off for an hour or so to say 'hi.'

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Short vid to give you a good look at the track layout. After watching this vid I finally figured out part of what was holding me up so much in the tight stuff, I'm counter leaning when hanging off... I've since been working on that and it's helping immensely.

    YouTube - 106 Race Park 5

Here's some stills taken by my in-laws, bit biased as to the subject material, but thats what you get when it's family behind the camera. : ) (My wife was shooting the video, hence that clip being the 'Josh Show' as well.)

It's a short but fun track. You can whip up to about 55 or 60mph down the back sweeper, pile the brakes on for a hard left that dumps you into a right left low speed combo. You then enter a longer right with a small dip at the first kink thats a bit deceptive, you can carry FAR more speed through there once you learn the two marker points and just start trusting the bike. I'm still learning that section... That dumps you out to a near 180 left, at which point it's back on the hammer for the back sweeper. Lots of places to make passes, both in back and in the tight sections, and unless you're really underpowered (stock 50 vs 124SEs) knowing the line will get the job done.

We were alternating between Saturdays and Sundays, guessing we'll do the same this year if Craig is up for running it again.

Based on 106 and Maine Indoor Karting, we've determined foot out works only when you've got a tall bike, and even then it only gets you down to a set lap time, to go faster, the knee has to go down.

Yeah, back when Alex & I raced at Cycles 128 & Foxboro we quickly came to the conclusion that you can carry a lot more cornerspeed knee down on a short bike. We were almost running into the backs of people in the sweepers that were knee down. They only had a slight edge while getting into the corners.
