Not really a bombshell its been in the talks for months. Nothing but a good thing for ducati.
"When there's a gap you either commit yourself as a professional racing driver that is designed to win races or you come second or you come third or come fifth, and I'm not designed to come third, fourth, or fifth. I race to win, and if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver."
Ayrton Senna
Great, now the electrical systems will need a ton of maintenance too.

I can resist everything but Pete's mom.
It's still not over. Fita heir and Rossi's BFF Lapo Elkaan has been quoted saying that HE will buy the big red DUCK to keep ownership within italian hands.
It will be interesting to see what transpires between all parties involved.
Maybe not surprising that it sold - but surprising to see who came to the table first.
....and with a boatload of cash

Ducaudi. Not quite the same ring to it
the fact instagram is worth as much is sad
Does this mean that Ducatis will now sound like a band of snotty gypsies?

Ducati seems to change hands about every 3 years....whats the big deal?

Does it really matter who owns Ducati? I could careless who owns them. If they don't change the direction of the company and keep on producing awesome bikes then there's nothing to worry about.
I'm surprised fiat hasn't jumped on that. They own majority of automobile in Europe
^not really true, fiat owns fiat, ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Lancia and Vespa. VWAG owns VW, audi, bentley, bugatti, skoda, lamborghini, MAN, and seat, and porsche owns barely more than half of them.
VWAG owns Porsche now. And FIAT does not own Vespa; Vespa is owned by Piaggio (along with Aprilia and MotoGuzzi and several others).
