    Boots

Whats the hot setup for boots these days? I've had a good run with my Sidis, but damn, the Vortices are like 500 bucks nowadays, is that really worth it? Is there a better value that doesnt sacrifice protection?

I'm really liking the TCX lineup. The foot bed is more US fit than EU fit.

Oh and Ill mention, I live in Texas, so ventilation is important. And I like the idea of pressure laces rather than a single zipper. My sidi's never fit perfectly because of my chicken legs.

Very happy with my (now 2 sets of) TCXes. The R-S2's I won at the RSP auction last year are rather choice.

The only Sidi I could make fit my chicken legs were the top end Vortice, those were the only ones with enough calf adjustment Sidi offered. My Formas use a zipper on the side, AND a calf ratchet, with usable adjustment range. Seriously, check out Forma Ice Flows (the vented ones).

I have Sidi Vortice boots. The ventilation is good, but they kinda suck to put on and take off.

I will spend what needs to be spent, but if I'm in the ball park of 500 dollar Sidis, I will buy those.

I just got the AXO Aragon boot. No review yet but I like the boa system on them. I had supertech r boots for seven years. Loved them but I'm sponsored by AXO, so I got a deal I couldn't pass up.

I bought Dainese boots...something with "air" in the name...usually $250-$300 boot, I got for a huned since a sportbike school supplied the boot for some guy taking the class, and he had his own, so he sold me the school's boot...closest I could get for the chicken ankle syndrome

Very happy with my Supertech R's, do not have small calves though, can't tell you if they'll cinch down that much.

    Re: Boots

So I pinged Ridersdiscount over on the wera forums about availability of the Sidi ST Air or whatever in white, he said they couldnt get them anymore, and suggested the Mag1, I said those are a little past my budget, he gave me a good price, that comes down toward what I wanted to pay to begin with. So looks like Im getting those.
And if youre looking for gear, doesnt hurt to hit them up over on Wera, not sure if this was a one off, or they just hook up discounts on the forum.

Same experience, once on - great...but when in a rush to make a race they were not the boot to have.

I swear by Alpinestars Supertech R, according to the doctor they are the reason my left leg was able to be fixed. Transferred all energy away from ankle and knee...directed it towards middle of shin which is easier to fix than joints.

Pricey and usually only good for 1 season depending on how much you crash. Bonus - very comfortable to spend a day in unlike most roadrace boots imo.

I like my Alpinestars SMX plus boots... around $350.00.... Crash tested a few times with no issues. they lace up on the inside with a side zipper. They work well with good feel once broken in and the venting is good..

Then you will absolutely love the supertech r. It goes on even easier, is more comfortable and has more safety features.
