Any of you who've got a Boxshop capable mount but didn't even come to spectate today missed a good show. Yes it was cold and wet, but there are ways of dealing with that. Amazingly there was still some traction to be found, and in most instances exceeded by plan. I played flagger today and got to see just what a good rider can do in horrible conditions; It turns out you can sling a dirtbike with rains around through a mud pit with something resembling precision. The amount of trust the fast guys put into their front end in the dirt is phenomenal.
Looking at the schedule, next play date is June 2nd with an open practice (and possibly a school) followed by a double header weekend of racing. The Mistake will be present, come play!
I slept in this morning...until about 1pm. I spent most of the rest of the afternoon wishing I had gotten up earlier and gone over to hang out.
I had a blast on Saturday, thanks for showing me around. The June round, I'll be in North Carolina, so the next one I can make is...who knows. They all conflict with either LRRS or TTD.![]()

LRRS/CCS Expert #86 / RSP Racing / Woodcraft / MTAG Pirelli / Dyno Solutions / Tony's Track Days / Sport Bike Track Gear / 434racer / Brunetto T-Shirts / Knox / Crossfit Wallingford

Lucky me, I have none of those conflicts.
Now, which bike to take??![]()

All of them?
Bravo for working man. Was the weather as bad as the forecast? My app was telling me 45 with 100% chance of "heavy" rain. To hell with riding in that! I don't mind rain.. but cold and rain. Meh.
I'm not happy with where my WR is right now. Brake kit does not fit as well as I had hoped. (It's a sumo brake kit, none fit without modification.. right?) Neither of the B/rain wheels I ordered fits right. And I still have that whacky chopped out seat.
Hopefully by next round I can get the brakes fitted more to my satisfaction. Change the seat foam. Get at least one of the rain wheels fit correctly. And then some cooperative weather.
"Spanky" go bye bye just as soon as I get around to it.
Get pics of that brake setup and spacer issue(s) and lets see if we can get that sorted sooner rather than later. An oversized rotor bracket for the stock caliper shouldn't be that much of an ordeal to get working, although if you're having spacer issues that'll complicate things.
Also, the rain wasn't bad, most of the day it was just a heavy mist. It wasn't until the mains that it really got any strength to it and most of that was from the wind starting to pick up.
Bah. Sounds like I could have run my shagged-ish rains and been happy.. or at least learned something.
Photos will come.
I *think* I have the front spacer concern sorted. I just lacked the confidence in it to load up, drive 90 minutes and run it as it was. A trip around the neighborhood should resolve that. I think.
I'm going to need someone to cut me some custom spacers for the rear. My new-to-me rear is definitely a 25mm axle design. Or maybe I can solve this with bearings. Just haven't had the mental capacity to think about it yet.
