They must be legal for superbike classes. You'd be crazy to run them though.

How did they not collapse under the weight of that monster of a bike?

The combined sheer awesomeness of that bike allowed it a temporary pass on certain tenants of physics.

Good thing he didn't light the rear wheel on fire when his warmer burnt his tire up.

    Re: Carbon wheels

I think Rick Breen has them on his S1000RR also. My reading of the super bike rules has them allowed. Nothing below super bike though.

That said, I have 4 bent/dented rims in my basement. That would be $6,000 of junk carbon if I had carbon wheels. Not worth it in my opinion.

    Re: Carbon wheels

I think you're incorrectly assuming the blows that caused your current wheels to dent/bend would damage CF wheels, given the testing vids that have been shown by BST I wouldn't be so sure of that.

I don'[t know why the testing shows carbon to be superior, but every racing wheel failure I've seen has also been carbon

When was the last failure you've seen? I've seen a bunch of mangled aluminum and mag wheels at the track just this season alone.

Yeah those BST wheels look to be stupid tough from the videos I've seen. Definitely tougher than a normal cast wheel.

I thought they were banned altogether, but I reviewed my rulebooks and 2005 was the last year they were banned.

Well it's not your new AMA built motor or tuned race fuel that's slowing you down at track days.....it's got to be those heavy wheels.

Don't be a dick... I am running out of excuses as to why I am so slow but I am pretty sure that I have narrowed it down to the wheels.

Listen, my bike may be light years ahead of my shitty ass riding, but if I want to light a bonfire with money that I clearly can't afford to dump into useless shit, the. I should be allowed to!

You want to get faster? Buy the Qstarz from Street & Comp. Overlap your laps with faster riders & try their lines & braking zones. Buying lighter wheels and ceramic bearings won't give you what you want.

Why so much carbon wheel hate? They're common place in the west coast club scene, not to mention pro...

Custom made forged OZ wheels are clearly the key to speed. 'Specially when your motor goes buh-bye... makes moving that empty chassis SO much easier!
