CCS and AHRMA racing this weekend

looks like the 2 kids from loudon shane narbonne and christan cronin did well at V.I.R this weekend Shane with 3 wins and a 2nd place and Christan with a 3rd place...Looks like Christan did the solo portion of the team challange and was doing well but drropped out of the event...And in Ahrma at Grattan raceway park my buddy John Lounsbury did well on the Triumph and Sv winning 2 races and 4 second place finishes...I guess Tom Fournier a lrrs rider took a pretty bad fall and wound up in the hospital with some head isssues... ive been told he will be ok but lets hope so...

Here's the RRW link, notice they were a little mixed up with Cronin, they called him Christian Loudon riding the Cronin Racing yamaha... Sounds like he was running up front and battling for the lead with Kern.. Sweet!

Damn. Hope Tom is doing okay. He's the owner of Dunbar's Ducati in Brockton FYI.

Re: ASRA and AHRMA racing this weekend

It wasn't a ASRA-race at VIR btw. It was just a normal CCS round.

CCS classes are friggin' lame btw. I had thought about attending this round and now looking at the results/classes it would have been worthless. No SuperSingles, SV's in Ultralight Superbike (idiot decision and completely redundant, that's what LWSB is for numbnutz), absolutely nothing for a motard, EX, Hawk, FZR400, etc to run competitively in.

    Yuck.

I just checked up on Tom. This initial prognosis was very scary, but the internal bleeding stopped pretty quickly and he is doing much better. Otherwise a broken clavicle and a few broken ribs. They are going to hold him for a few more days, he should be home this weekend.

it was definitely a ASRA weekend. ASRA Team Challenge not ASRA Michelin Pro Series.

as far as SV's in ULSB, its bs to allow 800cc twins in the LW classes. thats why you have SV's in ulsb.

    :offtopic:

800cc Air cooled twin is equal to a 650 liquid cooled SV.

I ran a Duc 800 superbike against superbike SV's. I was just keeping up with them on the straight.

A STOCK SV with DOT's in ULSB wouldn't be to bad but it would eventual be another production twins type class. (What can keep up with a superbike SV in ULSB?)

Team Challenge doesn't count. If you walked up to any pro rider and said 'ASRA' they are only thinking of the Pro Series. Even the CCS Schedule doesn't list it as a ASRA weekend. http://www.ccsracing.us/schedules/2009/schedule.html
I suppose 'technically' it was the 'ASRA' Team Challenge but it wasn't the ASRA Pro Series that gets the good riders, attention, and has a much much larger meaning in the motorcycle industry than the goofy TC.

Dude really? Next you'll be telling me the Buell 1125 shouldn't be racing 600's.

Alex i dont know how many PS or TC weekends you have been too, but in the 6 ive been too, TC is very much considered ASRA. What a pro riders perception of what ASRA is, does not mean it is correct.

no, i dont think it should be. just because buells are massive pieces of shit, they should not be given such a huge allowence in cc's to make up for the lack of engineering that buell has

Twin cylinder, liquid cooled, non-desmodromic valves, up to 800cc

    Fournier Update:

Tom was released from the hosptal some time back and came home. he seemed O.K. for a bit, but then started having memory lapses and flaking out in general. He went to the hospital, they checked him out and immediately sent him in for surgery. They drilled a hole in his skull and drained fluid that was causing pressure in his skull.

    He feels MUCH better, now.
