This looks fun as hell.......I was reading articles in Roadracing world mag months ago about these bikes and basically everyone is snickering as soon as the flag drops. Talk about racing cheap......this is the way to do it!

This is going to turn into a builder's class if the rules aren't clamped further. Pre 1994 and it's anything goes for motor/intake mods as long as you stay within the displacement limits... Early EX250s could be the machine to beat...

Don't forget that the rims on those bikes were not 17" until 2008. Before that they were all 16".

Sounds like a great way to get some more laps in, more or less "for free" after the acquisition costs.

Maybe lrrs will create a class like this since it is not part of the series.

You're allowed to swap 16" or 18" rims for 17s as long as you don't swap in a wider wheel than stock. But, seeing as the EX250 got nice 17s in 2008 and you're allowed to update/backdate with a given model... mwahaha!

Something tells me a 2 stroke 350 is not allowed anyway Josh... I know where there is a low mileage 250 for cheap.

I checked the rules, they don't say anything about 2 vs 4 stroke.

The only 250 I'm lusting after at the moment isn't legal. I want that CBR250RR that got posted on the Hawk forum baaaaaaad...

Nope, nor would it be competitive in ULSB without some major massaging... but I wouldn't race it. This would be for street antics while riding with my wife. 45hp, 300lbs dry, 19k red line all make for a bike that'd be MUCH more entertaining than my GS.
