The Classic 2016 - For sad ex-racers looking to camp and weep trackside

What's the new deal with camping/pits/general debauchery for the classic weekend these days?

Cost of camping? Places you can camp if you aren't racing(I could be a "pit crew" for someone if it means camping in the infield)?

Speak to me oh currently enjoying life ones without the burdens of child rearing.

you do not need to be 'crew' to get in the infield. sign in at the window at the gate, pay them set up tent wherever you see fit, plug in portable fridge of beer and enjoy

    Correct.

Camping is $25 / night and includes electricity.

You'll also need to pay for an infield pass which is $25 for the weekend.

    - - - Updated - - -

Just don't set up a tent anywhere in the "garage parking lots" set up anywhere else in the infield.

Lol. According to Motorcycle Week at NHMS | Events | New Hampshire Motor Speedway the $25 / weekend* is for Competitors "*Competitor pricing includes competitors, family and crew members. It does not include overnight or camping privileges."

    So, be a crew member.

If you pre-register for 3 (or more) races entry fees are waved for racers.

Nah, they used to hand out coupons to racing teams to give away for free or reduced price entry into race weekends for spectators. I'm guessing I'm just showing how long it's been since I've raced by even mentioning it.

This is correct. In 2014, before I started racing they asked me for the number of the racer I was crew/family for. Be prepared to drop a name/race number to be allowed to camp in the infield.

    Interesting. I've never been asked.
The only consistency I see in the gate process seems to be they are consistently inconsistent.

You're all crew for 771. I want so many to claim that such that LRRS staff come asking why the hell I need 100+ 'crew' for three race entries.

Be sure to swing by the RSP garage and say hi. I'll introduce you to this guy Pete, he used to race EX500s, you may have heard of him. Garages right next to us.

Re: The Classic 2016 - For sad ex-racers looking to camp and weep trackside

They get bitchy about re-entry on Saturday of the Classic when it gets busy. They almost didn't let Stacy back into the infield last year after she had been watching in T6, even with her wrist band. She had to give them my name and rider number which he called the gate to verify.
