    What a (Classic) race!!!

For anyone watching, the Classic was intense. Besides routing for our NERS folks who represented pretty damn well I must say (I'll leave it to them to post up race reports), the battle for the classic was an epic battle! My only regret was not witnessing the final pass.... I was glad I got to watch!

    Re: What a (Classic) race!!!

Watched all of Sunday's races from the main grandstands (where you can see about 95% of the track). The last lap of the Classic was, well, a "Classic." Took Scott a few laps to catch up to Shane, and a few of the guys in the stands when nuts when the #4 finally took the lead. But Shane was inching closer to him on every lap, and somewhere around T7 (I think) on the last lap, he sealed the deal. Scott stuck on his rear wheel through the rest of the lap, but just couldn't catch him. Great finish to a long day, very exciting (similar to the Catalunya finish this weekend). Congrats to Shane, and even to Scott, who I believe took three races of his own yesterday.

    Re: What a (Classic) race!!!

I had the best view of the final pass!!

The two of them had come up on me in turn 1a! At first I thought "who the hell is this green bike?!?!". Then I saw the 4 and thought "shit, its scott" I stayed clear as best I could as he went by and shane quickly followed entering 2. Out of 2 I checked to make sure there wasn't anyone else in that battle as I didn't want to be in the way. I followed them through the last lap and had the best view!

    Re: What a (Classic) race!!!

Definatley not making any excuses... but 62 race laps at NHMS in one day... is a loooooooooooooong day at Loudon!

I felt good on the last lap and thought I had enough to hold him off... but he had a plan and put it into place. Excellent race strategy.... showed real maturity as a racer and got it done.

It wasnt too long ago that we (Jeff, Eric & Myself) were able to shake Shane and others off in traffic as they just couldnt deal with it as well as us old timers..... but like I said... he has matured as a racer. I wish him all the best and hope that he gets a real break in this sport to showcase his talents "with the right opportunity and support behind it!"

I used quotations to stress that statement...coz riding your own bikes in AMA against Mladin/Yosh & Yamaha & CUBIC Dollars is tuff to get noticed. I'd like to see a real team take a chance on him.
