    Contingency Programs?

I was curious... are there any continigency programs that pay out for novice races? Or is it all amatuer and expert? Looks like for Pirelli that is the case. I'm considering tire choices for next year, and wanted to keep contingency programs in mind (if there would potentially be any benefit).

next time you at the track go to Street and Comp trailer and on the wall there's a sheet with Bridgestone contingency info, and yes Bridgestone offers contingency money to Novices too
or if you want I could find out exactly what that sheet says

Yeah, Lauren, Pirelli only pays out for amateur and expert classes, because the novice class isn't really a national thing, but something specific to LRRS.

For reference, here's a link to some info on Pirelli's 2010 payout schedule.

I meant like if you wanna know now instead of waiting to get to the track
to give you a general idea: $100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd and $50 for 3rd for most of the races for Novice and Amateur, but there has to be a certain number of people on the grid (6 or 8, not sure)
    hope this helps

Good to know Where would I find this info?

Regarding Bridgestones... I guess I woould want to continue running DOT's to be eligable for supersport classes. So in the BT003, it seems like I would want SM (soft to medium) or coumpound type 4 for Loudon? http://mc.bridgestone.co.jp/en/produ...lax/bt003.html

    type 2 - medium/hard
    type 3 - like medium/soft
    type 4 - soft

for the front tires the compound isnt the only difference between the type 3 and 4, the profile is different too, type 3 has a more triangular shape(quicker turn in), where type 4 is more round, so it comes down to personal preferences and bike setup

most of people use type 3 rear, maybe you should try a type 2 first(enough grip but will last longer)

    Re: Contingency Programs?

With the no minimum grids rule the conti is an absolute no brainer for novices.

Any class, any grid, payout to 4th... that's insane.

    Re: Contingency Programs?

Where would I find specifics on different manufacturer's contingency programs? Are these programs specific to certain club racing events/race orgs or a general/nationwide thing? For example, if I ended up club racing with WSMC in CA, would the contingency program be the same as LRRS or completely different?

    Re: Contingency Programs?

With 5 entrees Bridgestone pays 1st place $100. With 8 entrees BS pays $100 for 1st place and $75 for second. With 11 entrees BS pays $100 for 1st, $75 for second and $50 for third. You receive a certificate in about a month redeemable towards BS tires of your choice. Street and Comp honors them. Conti also supports novices along with VP fuel and LRRS with their race credit program. A big "Thanks" to all of them for their support.

    Re: Contingency Programs?

Things have changed ALOT for the better for novices in the last 4 years.

Edit: Less incentive TO BUMP with all this contingency.

I remember back in the day when you wanted to BUMP to get a piece of the pie... Isn't that right Peter?

    Mike,

I'm gonna get a nice shot from Arcy, otmpix.com, to fill the bottom, put it behind plastic and glue it on.
