He's hot cause youre not.
In all seriousness, I wasnt going to write up a race report since it was a fairly uneventful weekend other than the major brake issues, but some people deserve massive public thanks, so thats why its here.
Practice. Yay chicanes are a whole helluva lot of fun.
Race 5 SSingles. Get a good start, one of the fast guys dives under me in 1 like he ALWAYS does, those 3 take off. I drag a 125 to the finish, thats about it. 4th place out of 6. 1:35 flat best lap
Race 9: Running in 3rd, come into 1, brakes feel a little squishy, decide I'm gonna stop messing around on brakes that arent working, cept I'm in third, so Im racing till I'm passed. Fortunatly its only a 1/2 lap more till I drop to 4th and pit in for a DNF.
Saturday night: So pissed off about ANOTHER mechanical issue, I'm ready to give up and go home. Start packing my stuff up. The Alley and t1a friends show how great they are by offering to buy me some tampons, and calling me a big pussy and stuff, and of course, offering to fix the bike. Finally accept that they're right and I REALLLLLY want to run the chicanes again, so they basically fix the bike for me. Buy a spare 636 master off of Denno, get that hooked up, its more of an on off switch than a brake lever, so it made me nervous but man I loved those chicanes.
Sunday practice: Terrified of the on/off switch, turns out its not as bad, Josh (Kurlon) was right, it feels stiff, but you gotta grab it to get them working decently.
Race 2: Fun race, as always the 3 fasty guys check out and I'm left a cruising by myself. Highlight of the race, as I'm coming down 10 at (my) full throttle damn near peeing myself, Shane passes me up high, full throttle, leaned over, and waves to me. I started laughing then and there and continued to do so all the way down the straight, fucking hysterical. Only lapped by 4 people, and the last 2 got me out of 12, so that was good. 4th out of 6. Best lap 1:33.4. Oh and I got the holeshot for the first time ever, held them off till 3. Ill take it.
Race 5: LWSM ready to go out, starts to drizzle on the warm up lap, they call a 10 minute weather break, all set to go out in the drizzle, then at 3rd call it starts raining. Since I'm on a DOT front and a slick rear, call it a weekend.
So anywho, many many thanks to the ZTA boys and t1a friends for making me stay sunday. Had an awesome day, enjoyed the chicanes more (can we keep them?).
Especially to CEO, Josh, Chris Watt and whoever else pitchied in for basically completely putting the bike together for me. And I say basically cause I attempted to bleed the brakes for 2 minutes before chris told me to go paint a house and he'd do it.
