Well, my FIM World Supersport electrics kit arrived the other day. It came with the manual that tells you how to build an AMA or World spec CBR600F4i racer. The wiring loom is about 1/3 the size of the original and installs backwards (ECU need to be installed in the nose cone of the bike now). I need to manufacture an ECU bracket and a battery box. The ignition switch is no longer needed as the new HRC start/off switch on the right handle bar handles that function.

I also have a cable hanging down by the left side of the radiator which is where I plug in the laptop computer to program the ECU (programmable ECU in the FIM kit, no need for a power commander)

Mark, I have the instructions for using the HRC ECU program and tuning this bike. I will photocopy them and mail them to you so you have a heads-up on what will be needed. I am trying to borrow the very expensive HRC dynamic control module which lets you tune eveything in-flight during a dyno run, then download a snapshot to the laptop and ECU at the same time. It costs beaucoup bucks and I will probably have to lay down a $5g deposit just to borrow it.

I also have my swingarm spools welded on the swingarm now and they look real trick. I decided not to paint them mat black as they look more "factory" in plain silver color.

Tuning on the fly is the way to go....
There is another chunk of software out there that allows for that...

It just gets better every year!

Lemme know when you need my address...

Should be able to squeeze 105 to 110 (depending on fuel used), In stock engine trim.
What makes the difference is that bike will weigh a lot less than the standard stock one. So it be going FASTER!

Yep, like Mark says, about 105-110 in stock motor form. I hope to have the bike weighing less than 330lb by the time I'm finished.

Is anyone racing the 637cc Kawasaki? I know its not legal for supersport but how about other classes It "seems" to have an advantage right out of the box!

    update...

    Ohlins shock,

I ordered one of the new ohlins shocks with the high-low speed adjusters. Retail is $1039.00 and I haggled to get it for $804.00. They called me back to say it was backordered until May 1
Then they called back again today to say the revised shipping date is April 4

I'm trying to build a battery box that will fit in the race subframe which is proving difficult but i'll get there eventually.

The upper fairing/guage bracket that I ordered was apparently for an F4 which is why it didn't seem to fit properly The company used the wrong bracket as a template. they say they have sold over 40 of them like that so they are desperately redesigning and say they will have me a replacement in the next few days. I also have to design a hanger for the ECU which now has to fit into the nosecone instead of under the seat.

I have installed the HRC ignition pulse generator which will allow me to alter ignition timing via a laptop directly to the ECU (no power commander required) Also installed the HRC wiring loom, and bought an RC51 throttle assembly which is required when using the HRC kit (doesn't have the ignition shutoff integrated with the throttle assembly.

Called Lockhart phillips yesterday and ordered.

    1. set of superbike racing grips $4.00
    2. Set of carbon fiber brake lines (front and rear) $95
    3. Shift rod $4.00
    4. Fuel cap $60
    5. Drain plug $5
    6. Windshield bolts $5
    7. Afam 47 tooth sprocket (backordered)
    8. Akrapovic ti exhaust bracket (backordered)
    9. Akrapovic ti exhaust hanger (backordered)
    10. Water wetter $6

Some other stuff I can't remember...

Waiting for parts, but the bike is getting there slowly. It WILL be ready for the first race weekend com hell or high water.

Shoot, i don't even have bodywork for it yet...overtime here I come.

    Almost forgot..

I also ordered a set of these:

    http://www.underleathers.com/acatalog/

They should hopefully negate the need for the infamous "dance of death" trying to get my leathers off. I actually pulled a muscle in my shoulder trying to get my leathers off my sweaty arms last year. Vanson makes the liners stick like glue to sweaty skin for some reason.

Heh heh, me, running? You don't know me very well.

I don't run ANYWHERE. Running kills people. The seditary life is for me.

Which reminds me, I'm going to wear a heart rate monitor during a race this year just to see if I can get up to 155 during a race.

Sounds like you are making great progress Degs...I can't wait to see that bad boy when it's done.
As far as a battery box...check out Beth's tupperware collection. (or is the box required to be metal ?)
I've raided Kristin's cabinets more than once (oh, that sounds naughty) in a quest for the perfect housing for one project or another...

No, that box is ready for a baby shower some FRIENDS are having, nothing to do with us.

The Dunlops on the wheel is a decal. I gave Jay a set of 'emdidn't he leave them with you Gordon?

Chris, are you going to be able to make it to the track this weekend for the testing session?
