    dumb racer questions for '14

    (hi)

    1. Who's got what for sale? Prefer 600/650/motard of most any flavor...

    2. Anyone know the first available day to get licensed for LRRS in '14?

    Thank you!

If you're just starting out and haven't taken an acceptable course yet, check out the penguin site for their schedule. Rd 1 is 4/26-27 so their class should be on 4/25 (friday). After you take the class you get your license. If you have already taken the class within the last 12 months you should be able to simply send in your application to wanda.

As for bikes for sale, nothing in the 600/650/motard range but I have a nicely setup aprilia RS250 for sale...

You mean while he is on it right? I recall seeing a couple of bikes pushed beyond limits by him in the past

Got it, 4/25 it is. Anybody getting out of racing have a bike for sale?

The stock gsxr 600 is interesting. I'd prefer to buy sorted suspension and brakes if possible.

First: decide WHAT you wanna race.
    Second: find bike.

Eric has 2 SVs for sale in the thread you've already posted in. I'm sure that both are tuned by none other than the man, Rick Doucette, himself. If you don't know who Rick is, he's the holder of the LRRS #1 plate.

So Rick's the Zoran TWF of the East, good to know. I've raced twins and inlines before. I'm less interested in which bike and more interested in a good grid full of competitive racing. SVs seem to be the most available, 3 or 4 have popped up so far today...

Lightweight classes are pretty competitive on Novice, Amateur, and Expert classes. You can do quite a few classes with an SV. Even race against i4 600CC bikes, if you're daring, like Glenn Coolbeth, who has been known to run the dash for cash on an SV.

Not a nice find ... it's his bike. Brendin's good people, bike is sorted and competitive. You can run middleweight, heavyweight and unlimited classes w/ an i4 600 ... which are, needless to say, competitive.

Re: dumb racer questions for '14

Both middleweight and the sv class have been really popular. I know last year we had grids over 40 people in middleweight novice. Historically that has been the most popular class, but sv's have gotten just as popular in the last few seasons and have some really competitive racing.

Nesr is a good place to buy a bike since it's local and close knit. Wera is a good place if you don't mind shipping a bike. There's usually sine well set up bikes for sale on there:

Another new class that seems to have a good buzz to it is the formula 300 class that is starting up this year. Should be really cheap to run in it and you can run in the lightweight classes, too.

Oh and bergs is selling a pretty nice race package in the fs section. For the money, your getting a very well sorted bike with lots of extras on the side.

Trevor Chippissi (sp?) is selling his ktm 560 if your looking for a good motard to race. That's the biggest engine you'll want to go with at Loudon for a motard. Just call Argo cycle in nh and ask for him if your interested.

Trevor's 560 has been sold as of 2/27/14. I am not the person that bought it but figured I'd let people know it is no longer for sale.

If you buy a Motard, race with a Cup on. That way when it blows you might save your nuts... LOL!

There is a 560 at razees in north Kingston RI for sale. I'm not affiliated but it's a rare bike and I took notice.
