    EBC continengecy

Mike's FS thread made me think of what EBC's contingency program is.
cant find anything on CCS or EBC's website for classes and payouts.
    anyone know what it is?

my Performance Friction pads arent available anymore and i'm looking to either use Galfer (sponsorship) or EBC contingency for 2015.

I've raced with EBC stickers and product for 2 years and never got a dime. I've called and emailed, no luck. I won't be trying again, that company doesn't keep it's promise to racers and in my opinion, are totally worthless.

    Re: EBC continengecy

I'm not saying this is happening now but the only problem I had was with my paperwork being lost or not filed in a timely manner...neither of which ended up being an EBC issue. I believe I posted a thread a few years back that talked about this.

Went nearly 2 full seasons of not paying for EBC pads.

    Re: EBC continengecy

I would lean more towards it being a paperwork filing issue than an EBC issue. I got a number of certs from them when podiuming in NV and AM.

    Re: EBC continengecy

Hmmm...If I recall from the last round there were two brake companies with contingencies. (EBC and I forget what the other one was)

I'm assuming there's some fine print about competitive products that would keep you from running, say, one brand in the front and another in the rear?

Unfortunately the rulebook doesn't seem to give specifics for each sponsor (or even a listing), and the last listing of contingency sponsors for LRRS online seems to be from 2008 (unless my google-fu is failing me).

    Re: EBC continengecy

I know EBC advertised payouts last year, but I never saw a dime. I triple checked all the criteria, paperwork, etc and followed up with them a million times and was always given the run around. Was even told the money should be on the way, but never saw it and finally gave up, although I think earned it every round last year.

However, I had a friend that participated the previous year and did receive his money, although I recall it being very late after the season.

I don't know of anyone that's received anything this year or last. My assumption is that they've put the brakes on that program.

Multiple complaints about them in the CCS forums as well Jim. I think them paying is the exception and not the rule, and I can't stand a company that doesn't hold up their end of the bargain or do what they say they are going to.

Getting upset at a company for not sending you extra cherries on top is a little silly, don't you think?

Depends on the deal. If EBC offers open contingency, says if you do X (Run our product, list us as a sponsor, run our stickers, place well enough in a deep enough grid) we'll do Y (Pay / Product based on these terms) and doesn't deliver, that's pretty rotten and they deserved to be called out on it. If I'm going to bat for a given brand, it's because we've got an agreement on how it'll work. No agreement, I'm not flying your brand, simple enough.

    Re: EBC continengecy

I understand that but I've got a feeling this is a little bit "looser" deal. The fact that so many are a part of this sponsorship makes me think that...

We'll do as we please. Bergs answered your question earlier with a phone number and an email. If you're too lazy to call, no contingency for you!

CCS Sponsors & Contingency lists EBC as officially offering CCS contingency. Therefore, contingency@ccsracing.us will have the official answers on the topic of what the program is.

i already emailed the guy and no response.
i figured someone on NESR would probably have some slither of useful information involving free credits for race parts.

    guess i was wrong.

Weird, Eric @ CCS has always been quick at getting back to me? Checking back on the last two times I dealt with him I got responses same day every time.

    Is your phone broken too?

"Robert has been at trade shows and races lately, in and out of his office." His secretary just put a note on his desk to call Jim "crybaby" Mcsomethingville when he gets in.
