I'm sure you can find some inappropriately slow dirt bike to enter in this race.

    (no, I don't mean mine)

(yes, I mean the 125 Smutty is selling)

Re: Entering the Classic Motard race on an SV..?

If they shorten the front straight enough, or throw the chicane in there, the WR250 would be a solid weapon for this race...do it Kurtz.

If the course was set up similar to what I rode a couple years ago this would be a tough race for the SV. Not cause of the jumps and dirt, but just the multiple, slow speed changes in direction. The lightweight and short wheelbase of the WR on the other hand....do it Kurtz.

Hell if they let me I'll bring the 1000 to do that with.

Which might be coming for the burnout contest anyways. Especially now that I know it has to be a rolling burnout... It d be interesting to see who else enters that.

Damn, now I've got to re-organize the trailer to bring the Ducati for middle weight races, the SV for the light weight and the ZX12R for the burnouts

obviously if it is that huge of a risk its better off not to happen.
But someone else did it and it worked. yes completely different track and a lot less riders but impossible it isnt. Maybe its not for Loudon, but it is realistic.

Re: Entering the Classic Motard race on an SV..?

Just be aware, this is going to be a national caliber event, it's part of the SMEC (Supermoto East Coast) series which means you have people who NEED THE POINTS showing up from out of region for this. I'm normally a nutter and would contemplate rigging SV wheels onto my WR so I could give this a go buuuuut... not with this level of competition out there.

If you want to give SuMo a try, get up to Maine for a NEMM event and we'll get you on a TTR/DR-Z if you want to start small, or a 250 if you want to go balls out.

Wanna rent my DRZ? $2000 deposit, refundable if you return in as-is condition.

Edit: Nevermind. The bike would have to be drilled and wired. And you ain't doin' that..

    there will be heats/qualifying etc...
my money will be on the local guys as very unusual to run so much "hi-speed" blacktop (certain % has to be dirt).

The testosterone scrubbers positioned discretely in and around the paddock will be overloaded, girls will be growing beards and guys will be bashing each other's heads in over little things like the best tire brand or soda. It'll be joyous mayhem! Just have NHMS pull up any abandoned trailers in the storage lot to place around the track as extra obstacles, that'll keep the speed down and the entertainment up. Heck, charge a gate fee to view the race FROM said abandoned and now on track trailers.

Jhonny lewis and the smec guys said they would be coming up a week or so early to build a legit dirt section and try and figure out how to tighten up the course to make it more supermoto friendly. There's alot of guys that are complaining about coming to nhms. They don't want to be hanging off the limiter abs blowing up there bikes.
