My father used to bring me when a bunch of guys from work would go.
They'd set up staging everywhere or sit on the top of U-hauls.

Nothing like being 9 years old and seeing a drunk guy yell down 'show us your tits!' Then proceed to fall off 3 levels of staging holding onto a can of Bud when she whips 'em out.

One morning we took me up on Animal Hill before the racing started. I'll never forget looking into a tent as we're walking by and some dude with blood all over his chest sitting up in there. Almost as cool as Gene Simmons, until he yelled 'what the fuck are you looking at?!' Scared the crap outta me.

Definitely cool back then though. I wasn't old enough to remember much, but I recall seeing Kenny, Freddie, Cooley, and Baldwin. I was pretty much focused on Doug Domokos, wheelying a KX250 and KZ1000 around the place.

Wow JT... That's a name I haven't heard since forever. I remember adjusting the foil on the rabbit ears to watch him do his thing on Wide World of Sports.

He was at Bryar a few times. I got to stay up late and watch him wheelie on 'That's Incredible!' too. He was my idol when I was a kid, trying to wheelie my YZ80 everywhere.

"Motorcycle Weekend" has since turned into Bike Week....and it pretty much sucks for those that aren't into the Weirs Beach thing. We always went there in high school, in our cars / trucks though. Most of us didn't have street bikes back then, just bad-ass redneck trucks and Z28s.

Vintage races at Gunstock were about the best thing since the AMA pulled out. Now they stopped those as well. Dammit.

USCRA has reviving that event for next June on the table. We need lots of volunteers to pull it off, though.

Yes, #8 is Freddie Spencer's bike. In the background is Jimmy Adamo in the black T-shirt and Reno Leoni in the funny straw hat. #53 is Nick Richichi, who won the Classic in 1981.
