I'm a novice and I think my bike is pretty pimp with all the goodies! Unfortunately, the slowest part of my bike is the rider.

Sounds good! Settino was riding as a Novice last week. Maybe you can sign Schlachter on as a Novice in June.

Novice is not allowed in the Classic moatrd race......why is this a hard concept to grasp? another reason to want to progress in your riding skills. I know it was a motivator for me to want to get better so I could play in the Motard race.

I think the real reason novices are not allowed in the classic motard race is so some of us like me dont look foolish out there. Riding at the back of the pack of experts isnt too bad but riding behind a novice would look sad

When did that rule go into effect? In 2009 I ran the Motard race as a novice?

Actually, the way the classes are structured now, there is no such thing as novice motard... at any weekend. I can confirm in 2009 (before the new novice class system) it was allowed, it was the first motard race I ran, got 1st NV in it.

I remember seeing a Novice in the special motard race either last year or the year before.

ok well then as novices you guys should race it this year then

I still agree with Eric though, closing speeds on some of the Novices and some AM's for that matter are not safe to have out there all together, hence group practices..............

So, now that the Classic schedule is out...any more info on this race? Before I register, I really would like to know how this is going to work; entry cost, can teams compete in multiple classes on multiple bikes?

Tommy said he would have the document out by noon tomorrow. I won't be able to post it here until I get home from work, so sniff around the NHMS website.

I see the schedule but where do we find the rules/classes. Also I assume that they are hoping to start it by 2:30

THIS has never been done because it does not meet the definition of an endurance race. 45 minute maximum stints is the norm, forcing at least two rider changes. I admire your ego, though...
