    Swapping transponders...dumb rule. 4 rider teams...dumb rule.

They should have taken the rules straight from the CCS Team Challenge Series.

And Brett I am not going to ask 3 other people to be on my team and then tell them their riding is going to be limited. Not how I roll. Team challenge in Jersey that I did with one teammate was a blast. Loved it.

The transponder thing is no different than any other time LRRS is operating. If you're on a hot track you need YOUR transponder on the bike so they know who is out there. I'm sure that's the reason they're enforcing it for the endurance as well.

That's cool and all...but CCS does it better.

Re: Friday of the Classic Endurance Race

switching the transponder is easy as long as no more than 1 person on the team has a wired one (and I'm only thinking of space there). 2 transponders on the bike would be ok as long as you disconnect one if its wired. mine has a quick disconnect from a battery tender.

4 riders isn't bad but I think 3 would have been acceptable.

I found another team so I'm good. we're planning 45 minute sessions but I'm betting that's gonna be a bit much and we might have to break it down more. 2 people who aren't used to a 600 is gonna make it interesting too. and I'm doing GTU earlier in the day

No different? The last time LRRS 'operated' a team endurance race, there was no switching transponders.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

I wasn't around for that, just going by the normal rulebook and track procedures, which say there has to be a transponder on the bike and it has to belong to the rider operating the machine at the time.

Steve Aspland: "Please check the rules again. We have made changes. It has been a long time since we have run an Endurance race at LRRS, due to lack of interest, and we have taken all comments under advisement and made logical changes. This will be great fun for all involved and we hope to run an endurance event again."

This race does definitely require a CCS license. I think if you wanted to participate we could get it done for you.

You mean borrow four wireless transponders. Four for each team.

But what if the three other guys you trust enough to race your bike (or who trust you on theirs) and you all have wired transponders? (and just to be a pain in the ass, what if none have Tender connections?)

I'm not bitching for the sake of bitching - I understand why transponders are necessary since the "one AM" and "time requirement" rules are in place - I'm just complaining about the logistics of getting such things sorted out two weeks away from the event.

then you can all rent them. I know that sucks. it'd be real nice of the track if they would rent us them free for the race since they are requiring individual transponders and those of us with wired ones make it difficult.

Maybe we can all rent them.

The track doesn't own a ton anymore, they allow new racers to use them for free for their first three weekends, and then they rent them out as available.

No, LRRS uses more resources than USCRA. You're required to provide a scorer for the Big Fish Small Pond race (No Electronic Timing and Scoring and the personnel to run it.), less corner marshals (and more red flags.) and officials aren't paid to name a few things for starters.

You guys behaved during the endurance race. The rest of the season, however......
One year we had a 2 hour race for the big bikes and a 1 hour race for the 50's. The schedule was tight, so we ran both races at the same time. at the one hour mark I was standing out on the Start/Finish line with the crossed halfway flags in one hand and the checkers in the other, showing the appropriate one depending on the bike approaching me.
