Goals for the '09 LRRS season?

It's that time of year again.... Comin up on spring & we're all gettin ready for the season (only 93 days left! )....

So what are your big goals for the '09 LRRS season? I'm always interested in hearing where people stand now & where they want to be by the end of the year.


I've got a handful of minor goals, but I'll cut to the chase & get right down to business.... ie, LAP TIMES!

I'm hoping to pick up this season where I left off in the mid 1:22 range (PB of '08 was a 1:22.2) and drop into the teens asap.... We'll see if I can't do that by the Classic. It might be a lofty goal, but doable if I really work hard at it.


As for those minor goals, I just want to have a solid, fun and SAFE season where I learn as much as I can from the other experts (and of course the rest of the TTD staff, but track day goals belong in the track day section ).

I also wanna to improve my cornerspeed everywhere obviously, but mainly into, through and out of the bowl... For some reason I've got a mental barrier there that I just can't seem to break through... I just need to man up, let go, put my head down & get through it.

With a Personal Best of a 1:22.6 I hope to pick up where I left off and drop into the teens by the classic as well. It will be difficult with the limited amount of racing I will be doing.

As for areas of improvement. I need to work on my drives out of the corners and I would really like to nail 3 and 10. Anyone have tips? (Pete?)

I thought ROTY was pretty much reserved for first year racers who scream up through the ranks? IE because I crashed my first weekend and missed half the season, I'll never be eligible?

Thats what I thought. Since I entered the last two weekend of last year Im pretty sure Im out of that as well.

I was advised against doing my first race on the last date of 07 specifically because of the ROTY possibility.

I did none track days. I never even saw the track before I was on it for penguin.

same here... but i didnt race the same weekend i took penguin and i did do a track day between penguin and my first race weekend
