Saw that somewhere and thought it was neat but my immediate reaction was that the tab on the back with the electronics in it would get annoying as all hell when tucked and trying to turn your head. As it is my helmet drags on my leathers so anything else in there would probably cause me some issues.

Oh boy, just one more device to pay a ridiculous amount of money for, that may only work some of the time. At least this one won't affect the structure of the inside of the helmet.

It measures the acceleration of your head over time and compares it against models of head impact criteria to determine the severity of an event. The actual mechanism of the acceleration, whether it be whiplash or spearing a guardrail, is irrelevant.

They've been working on it for years. Many of the guys working on it are involved with the Sports Legacy Institute and know what is at stake.

The stabilized camera mount I played with used piezo gyros. They're tiny, tough, and accurate. I think the MSRP is $200.
