    Help With Race trailer

that's the kit a bunch of us have. The directions are kinda skrewed up & the bolt/nut dimensions are weird.... But it's a great trailer for the money.

only tip i've got is put the frame all together, then make a list if everything you think you'll need for the wood panneling... 3/4" plytood, bolts, nuts, washers, eye hooks, tie down straps, etc... and buy extra nuts & bolts.

EDIT: some people have said they had trouble w/ the wiring getting a proper ground if they did it the way it's described in the directions... but i followed the directions & all my lights work just fine Possible they changed something

    Help With Race trailer

    i just re-did mine.
i used anchors and bolts through the frame. Not sure exactly what they're called though. the anchor is like a washer, square center, and spikes on the bottom that I hammered into the plywood.
Then a bolt with a square upper flange goes through the anchor and through the hole in the frame. Attach washer/nut and tighten.

I used some e-track for tie down points and a wheel chock in the middle.
I'll try to get some pics to show ya, not done yet. still have to finish the sides.

air tools help a lot. a 4x8 sheet cut in half fits the the deck. If you want to carry 2 bikes i'd add some kind of extention in the frt to get the tie downs a little farther out....

What red said.... get some angle iron or something & bolt it on to the front, or probably better yet, underneath to extend the tie down points to the side further.... about another foot should do.

I'm considering doing that as well. Maybe rig it up so i can either easily remove it or fold the extensions back & outta the way when i don't need em.

the trailer folds... if two 4x4 pieces is the same as 1 4x8, might as well buy 2 4x4's and save yourself the trouble

Or maybe you don't need to get any angle iron to fit two bikes....

    2 4x4 pieces are not the same length as 1 4x8, the 2 4x4s will equal about 7' 11.875"

    Help With Race trailer

I can never get two 400 lb bikes stable tied down like that pic. They flop around in the bumps. I tried angle iron, but the stuff I bought was too light and it flexed. So, a buddy of mine weled steel pipe to the front frame rail, then machined me some stainless inserts with locking pins and forged eye bolts. I can remove the outriggers when carrying one bike. Sweet set up.
