Yeah, it took quite a while to break that :21 barrier, then I got down to 17's and haven't made progress since. 'Course I haven't raced full time since either, but somewhere around the 18's seem to be my wall on a MW at Loudon. Just can't convince myself to push it anymore in my old age.... ha.

For some odd reason, I have no problems going 10/10ths at VIR or 'Bogie... odd. Guess I developed a concrete wall allergy.

About two and a half hours in a hotel pool locker room. Really narrow bench too, and I only knew her about an hour prior.

It's no surprise to me that people are able to do faster laps on smaller bikes in the novice range. I know some will disagree, but when I changed my gearing after a couple weekends, I noticed that it seemed easier coming into the turns after fast sections because I wasn't hauling so much ass on the straights. I know it seems like that doesn't make sense because w/shorter gearing I should be reaching max speed quicker and therefore able to go faster, but I swear I was hitting higher top speeds on the straights w/stock gearing. Anyway, my times were dropping and I just felt that it was easier to get into a rythm. Using a Tard for an example, it must be so much less scary as a novice approaching those turns and making it through them smoother.
W/the higher hp bikes, it definitely has a steeper learning curve if you will, because we have to learn how to slow the things down just right to still keep that flow thru the turns. I think figuring that out is something that is going to make a major difference in my times next season. Basically, I want the rythm of an ex500 combined just right w/the top end of the r6. It's all about the braking, which isn't as hard on a tard or slower bike imo.

Eh, this thread was supposed to be a joke around some shit talking between some rookies that were closely competitive all season.

Now it turned into a showing off competition about how the faster guys are better than us. Congrats guys, I'm really impressed.

cornerspeed is cornerspeed no matter what youre on. the thing is when youre on a low hp bike cornerspeed is the ONLY way to go fast. for the most part i think guys on MW+ bike depend so much on the ridiculous acceleration that they tend to slow down too much or "park" it in the turns. someone that has raced LW bikes will be able to carry that cornerspeed will have less of a learning curve when riding a MW+ bike.
i think, realistically, if you radar gunned greenwood in a turn on a 600 or 1000 and doucette on a SV in the same turn, i bet that their MPH would be very close. its the acceleration of the 600/1000 that makes the lap time difference between the 2
