    Ice racing in Sutton, MA

I heard that there will be an AMA sanctioned ice racing series at Singletary Rod and Gun club starting in January. Who is into this? I was thinking about running my TTR 125 there.

Start reading the rule book. It is ama sanctioned afterall. You need to run AMA certified screws, and a front tire guard to say the least.

    Good luck. Sounds fun.

That sounds like a good idea too. I kind of figured it to be somewhat of a goon event, and pretty much wing it. I guess not, huh?

We ride on the lakes in NH through the winter. Not competative but we make tracks and have fun. What kind of bike do you have to stud up? You can get out there for pretty cheap, the better performance you want the more money it's going to cost.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

I have a TTR125L with duel sport tires. I use that as my pit bike in the season and also use it on cone courses in parking lots for shits and giggles.

You'll probably want to get some knobby tires for it, even a decent pair of takeoffs will work for the shorter screws. I'll probably have my thumpstar pitbike studded next week, and a full size, CRF450, CRF250 or KX250 as well.

I have a set that I took off. The idea of setting up my own thing and doing it in a non competative way would probably work out well. I was pretty much just looking for something to kill the winter bordom.

I'm down with some racing. Got any more details? A set of AMA-spec studded tires would set me back some, but if I could get by with the studded tires I already have, that'd be bonus.

No details yet. My parts manager is big into anything dirt related, and he is keeping up with the info. I'll ask him tomorrow if he has heard anything.

I've never spent time riding ice, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
