Hi everyone,
This is it. I have decided to pull the plug on racing. There is really not one reason, but many. Some very personal, and some more practical. The thing is it's very clear to me that it's time to leave the party.
I can say that I've had a really great time, and some peak experiences. Riding a GP bike at the limit is a true privilege and I'll miss that feeling a lot.
There have also been dark moments and trying times. Seeing friends killed and hurt badly is wrenching.
I've really enjoyed the people I've met through racing and I'm sure many of those connections will last a long time.
If your still in it, put 100% in. I'll be rooting for you!
Paul
P.S. Anybody want a turn-key 125 set-up? It's fast![]()
tough decision Paul, I know.
you ran great out there! maybe things will change in the future, but I totally understand your decision.
Sorry to see you go. It's you're decision so it is certainly the right one. Great that you could end your racing career with such an impressive accomplishment record. I'm guessing we'll still be seeing you at trackdays though.
Tell me more about this 125. Can it haul my bulky ass around a track competatively.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I'm really sorry to hear this Paul, but understand that you know when you are done, and its a good thing to recognize that.
Its been great watching you out there on the track, and seeing you win the Championship last year.
Hopefully we'll see ya up at the track hanging out sometimes

Ohhh wow... Paul, I'm sorry to hear that, but if it's time it's time. The guys before me said it well enough, there's not much more I can add to it. It was great watching you out there flog that angry bee from the stands & I'm just glad I can still watch you buzz past me at track days.
See ya out there, bro.

Paul,
Kudos to you, for knowing when to say when. I admire you for your track knowledge and riding skill, but more so as a 'no bullshit', intelligent and helpful friend. I'm sorry to see you go. You'll be missed. Make sure you come up and watch sometimes! It is officially your fault I bought the 125 and I'm having the time of my life. Thanks bro.

Sorry to see you go Paul. I hope your racing career has been a positive one and you will leave taking with you the highlights of all your accomplishments. You are definitly a "fast guy" and will always be.

wow. i think everyone has already said it best Paul. mixed emotions to see you go but I understand. Sounds like you are making the right decision for yourself. I hope we will still be seeing you around the track anyways. Congrats on your accomplishments in the past 5-6 years and huge thanks for the knowledge you have passed on.

Nice ride, Paul.
Done with motorcycle racing altogether, or just roadracing?![]()
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. - John Stuart Mill
Thanks guys, I'm definitely going to miss it. I'm done racing of any kind for now. Time to pursue some other things in life. If it leads me back to racing somehow, so be it.
I'm a hardcore rider though, so I'm sure I'll see you guys on some kind of two-wheeled adventures in the future. I'll have plenty of free time!
Hey... must have been a hard choice.
I respect it.
Be well. See you at some Tony's Day coming up, I hope !
peace out, akira

Sorry to see you go Paul. I hope you still bum around the racetrack from time to time, but I appriciate all the time, advice and information you've shared with all of us over the years. I'll be sure to hook up with you for some dirt rides this year. (You are still riding dirty, right?)
I wish you nothing but the best with whatever hobby, career, or life you choose after racing. Don't forget about us!![]()
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

Didn't see this one coming.. LRRS is going to miss your precise riding and level-head that's for sure. The club loses a good member.
Will say knowing you have 10 or so dates of mega-tracktime (Tony's) makes the decision a hell of a lot easier.
Good luck with future endevours.

maybe you should get into the "behind the scenes" of LRRS.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

You need to go back to your roots. PTWN-legal EX500 for the win. Show those fools what's what. Hell, a whole season on an EX would probably be cheaper than a weekend on the 125, amirite?![]()
Man I fell robbed. I never got to partake in the trackside wisdom.![]()

Paul I was driving up to Sear's Point today and thinking about this.
You should race the Classic man as your going out party. I think you've earned the right to wear the #1 plate in the 125GP class and represent LRRS as our top 125 rider against the 'best' the US has to offer in the USGPRU.
I for one was very much looking forward to and rooting you on next month.
Something to think about, seems a shame to get so close to the home 'big' round with all the National guys and hang it up. I know how excited you were about campaigning the USGPRU series....
Plus: There is going to be some VERY VERY special guests riding in the 125 and 250 USGPRU practices...
Either way I'm still your pal![]()

We heard all about the special guests coming up. You wanna spill it for those that didn't?

I just did the same thing Paul, and probably for some of the same reasons.
I enjoyed watching you race. The best of luck to you. Maybe I'll see you at one of Tony's trackdays.
